I loved it, very unique film experience, didn't expect his wife and son to feature. Nick Cave finally felt human to me, I hope it's never realesed and I'm not going to listen to the album right away, I can't stop thinking about it, powerful stuff. As sad as it was there was at least 3 or 4 little funny bits in there, Warren is a gem.

Echo pretty much all of this, except I'm dying to listen to the album again. Struggled to sleep last night for thinking about it all.

well shit that was an intense couple of hours. I'm so glad I saw the film as I feel like I really understood and appreciated the album more when I listened to it this morning. The last 2 tracks are mindblowing. I cant believe how honest he was in the film. That bit about time being elastic and snapping back to the tragedy gave such a visual understanding of the situation they are in. Also when he said the tragedy hasnt given him any creativity to work with - in fact the opposite has happened - was really illuminating.

His wife and son were so lovely.

I think they will tour this album, he did say he would be carrying on with his work as normal. I wonder what that set list would be like. Cant imagine the likes of jack the ripper or stagger lee would be included!

Also his son singing at the end over the credits.....holy shit.

Yes to all of this. It was so weird to see him talking so openly and emotionally about it all. And the bits with his family, when Earl stroked his mum's hair on the stairs, for example... Christ what a film. I can't stop thinking about it.

I really hope they do tour it. It almost warrants a set list entirely composed from skeleton tree though. It's hard to imagine what they'd play alongside it. I guess some PTSA would work.

Been listening to the album all morning. I need you is a revelation, 2 minutes into it last night I wasn't feeling it now it's one of my favourites of his collection and I can't really explain why.

In terms of him doing it live I'd imagine he'd probably split the show in half like he does here?

Unimpressed was definitely the wrong word, the man's impressive by nature.

It'd take a brave reviewer to say it's a load of old shite, given the subject matter!

Very true, reckon it will take a few months to gain a balanced perspective on how good the album is. First listening it sounds incredibly moving, and surprising to learn it was written prior to the tragic events. Really made me delve into his back catalogue with renewed enthusiasm.

I thought the 3D was highly effective too, too much is used for fast moving action effects, in the film was the first time I've seen it used in a slow paced, arty fashion which fitted entirely

Well I failed in my quest to stay away from here before watching the film. Can't wait now. Film this aft. Pick up the album tomorrow. Probable floods of tears rest of week!

Enjoy it Scruff. If enjoy is even the right word. I've no doubt you will.

Album is a masterpiece.

It's really beautiful. I can't imagine how he'll ever get round to performing it live.

definitely doesn't seem like the type of material for festival crowds. thought he might do something like headline Latitude next year but this might be a bit too low key for something like that

Just bumped into the man himself whilst getting coffee. Had a brief conversation. There are plans to tour, but possibly on a small scale, and they're still working out exactly 'how' to do it. Such a lovely guy, also.

Well that's exciting news! Thanks for that. Sounds like it won't be this year, though...

Indeed. My office is about 5 minutes from his house so we share a coffee place. Have seen him in there a few times, but he's always been sat down and I didn't want to bother him. This time we queued together. He let me through the door first. Gent.
