my least favourite album, where as i loved Birthday Party but then I was a Cave loving goth in the 80s. I've been revisting Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus and it's currently up there with Henry's Dream

/me goes to sit in the corner

I bloody love The Birthday Party

Still probably the most chaotically brilliant live band i have seen in 40 years of gigs. How often do you get a punter in the crush at the front breathing fire at the band? And they were only the support group at the time as far as i remember.

good point actually. It will be very hard to place. I do think it is an album that wont dimish over time though. Unlike the new radiohead one, which after my initial enjoyment has really plummeted.

Gave that a listen today and it's still great. I know I'm not supposed to use the R word in here but they are going to smash it on the Pyramid. In time I may be able to watch the TV footage...

Meant to post this the other day, but we've all been a bit distracted this week. For those that wanted to see the film but missed it:

Given the phenomenal response to the limited 8th September release of One More Time With Feeling, the Andrew Dominik film featuring Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds will play again in a number of cinemas across the world from 1st December.
There will also be the opportunities to crowd-source additional screenings where possible.

Tickets on sale and more information on 6th October at nickcave.com.

Blimey, this film cant have cost that much to make. They must have made shitloads of cash.

The general feeling is that the album is too depressing to be played at a festival. I'm rooting for him to be there, but I wouldn't get my hopes up too much!

Cave or Bon Iver would be my joint number 1 choices to sub Radiohead for sure.

One of my top few hopes for 2017, but I don't think he'll be there. If he does any festivals I think it'll more likely be headlining somewhere smaller (probably Latitude). Album obviously doesn't lend itself to a Pyramid sub slot (which is where I'd assume he'd end up again), but if anyone can make it work it's him.

All will depend on crowd. Respectful crowd and it'd be ace.

I reckon he could play Wembley Arena if he tours outside of festivals. 11,000 capacity? less if all seated. Cave could probably do it.

Hoping that he leans a bit on Abattoir and PTSA as well as Skeleton Tree. All three are superb albums.

I mocked up my twenty song Setlist into a playlist, I'll find it after work.

Albert Hall again, that night changed my life,God was defiantly in the house that night, speechless.

God I wish I was there for that (no pun intended)! I have listened to that official recording they put out of that night and it has by far the best version of Jubilee Street I've heard yet.

I can't really see him doing Wembley, how about Brixton or the Roundhouse?

A residency at the Roundhouse would be great.

That is the dream.

Is any of the dates he announced in Aus/NZ festivals of any kind?

I was unsure that he would do any fests but him doing the arenas makes me think he probably will..

Him on the Saturday other stage headlining after Radiohead on the Friday please Emily.

Would hope that if he did play again it was to headline one of the smaller stages - Looked great on the Pyramid regardless but in the middle of the day with a transient crowd didn't look as good as it could have been, it would be so much better at night with a bit of atmosphere.

Although I've seen him a few times over the years at festivals and his own gigs I would skip just about anything to go see him again if he played. Headlining Other against Sheeran or Gaga would be perfik.

For me Abattoir has the best opening with Get Ready for Love. No messing, straight in - here, have it.

Tupelo & Papa wont leave you Henry?

Do love ABs though was the first Cave record I listened through properly and then realised what I'd been missing
