foolee
I'd be happy with a 'safe' year to be honest, fair enough the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Biffy, and some extent KOL are being expected but after two 'difficult' years a weekend with the known and dependable could be whats needed
foolee
No hate at all I just find them the most boring band live and a complete waste of a headline slot. I've seen them every time they've played T and love their first two albums, but the last couple of times they've appeared at T they were dire! Also the crowd is murder for fannying about waiting for sex is on fire to come on.
foolee
Most of the shouts I have read on this are so predictable and mostly shite , T needs something amazing not just your run of mill year after year acts , does no one in here want more from T than just the usual scraps we get ??? Now I agree with the opinion that Ellis is just out to take our money with a fuck you attitude
Chiefski
But its not what is wanted is more what people will think the lineup will be like. Just an improvement on last year would be decent. I'd love for it to go back to the days of mixed genres and amazing lineups and having so much on to watch, but thats more of a hope than it actually happening. Another thing is what acts are on the road or have an album out this year/next year that T could book to give it that wow factor it used to have? It also used to have much more pulling power with a double site, as this equals double pay day for two shows in one weekend when the bands are just coming to scotland to play for half as much for 1 show. Matt42
Someone said to me Kings Of Leon, Biffy & Arctics. Would be three 'guitar' headliners if thats the route they are going down next year. I can't see Arctics but.. those would be very very strong headliners and something very different. Stuart1000
Went to see Macklemore & Ryan Lewis at the Academy last night. Was really impressive. A big stage production, a huge backing band and loads of great tunes. An NME headliner for next year if I ever saw one.

Stuart1000
It would be the first Radio 1 headliners that I have never heard of. Are they really that big? Academy midweek suggests no. Edited September 14, 2013 by Stuart1000
blue6field
It would be the first Radio 1 headliners that I have never heard of. Are they really that big? Academy midweek suggests no. Biffy, KoL and Arctics for the headliners. Has to be.
Chiefski
Sold out Academy on a Friday night as well as 2 nights at Brixton and a night at Dublin's O2 Arena. I'd say they are a lot bigger than Tinie Tempah was when he headlined Radio 1 a few years ago. They've had two of the biggest hits in the world in the last year and their album has sold by the bucketload. They're a dead cert for it I reckon (if not a similar slot to Frank Ocean high on Main Stage).
Gingo
To be fair though Beady Eye headlined Radio 1 this year and they are a Barrowlands size act, I know they have Liams name but the crowd size proved it was a poor choice, so academy size act probably wouldn't be the best shout as everyone in the last 4 years has been at least Arena sized
devilman
Stop mentioning kings of leon!!!!
thewayiam
Soz, I just think they are nailed on despite not selling out the GSS. I'd happily swap them for a supergroup. AC/DC would do nicely. Back in the real world though I suspect I'll be sitting out another T.
devilman
the problem is, past biffy, arctics, kol and arcade fire, where is the next big guitar band that could play?
thewayiam
Stupid question. But as a clue, and given that T have no issue in recycling acts every 2 years see if you can see any past the last 2 abysmal line ups.
DomDom1984
T in the Park always seem to have one band who don't headline all that often at least. I couldn't name a year where this hasn't happened.
Gingo
You are right they always seem to have one act thats a new headliner and the only example I can find of a year with no new headliners was 2011 but it was 6 years since the last time Foos headlined and 8 before Coldplay So there is a good chance that at least one of the headliners will be new but I can see Biffy being that new one

devilman
That would be lovely, then if they got Biffy and Arctics it would still be very strong and sell!
