That's Radio 1 Big Weekend. The promotion they get from that is worth their time to headline the 2nd stage (against Katy Perry as well). They're headlining Glasto for crying out load! That as big as you get in terms of size of bands. They are straight up headliners for every other festival in the UK, no doubt about it.

Also I've said this a few times....THERE ARE NO MORE BIG SLOTS LEFT TO FILL PEOPLE!!

To be fair, in 2011 Beyonce subbed T and headlined Glastonbury. We also had The Strokes subbing R1, Pulp subbing main and MCR third down main that year, and all three were headliners at Reading. I wouldn't take other festival placings too seriously. In saying that though, Kasabian's arrogance would prevent them being subs anywhere.

I'm still hoping for The Wailers and Blondie from V. Augustines and Band of Skulls would be good too. I'm surprised that Peace haven't been announced.

To counter that, 2011 was an abnormally strong year for T, I doubt it'l ever have a year that strong again. It's never had a lineup as strong as that before... I think it just got lucky in a lot of bookings, maybe alot of those acts chose T instead of their own scottish dates?

I was just using that as a way of saying that you shouldn't always expect acts to play the same position at every festival.

We'll probably get an announcement right after ithis weekend though, T will use the 'highlights' from it as a tool to promote this.

people keep saying theres no more slots for any big acts which is fair enough but im still convinced theres one for sunday. no idea who it will be though but nobody has convinced me otherwise. im still going to take the poster as a guide until T say otherwise and theres a space on there.

Biffy themselves have said it is going to be special. I reckon we will finally get to see the t-shirts they have been saving up for.

It would be nice to see a few more big names, well not even big just averagely sized bands like White Lies, MGMT and The Horrors but unfortunately I think people are hoping more than actual reality. Just because if you write the lineup down and put bands in to certain stages and look at previous lineups theres only space really for smaller acts.

like i say im going off the poster and will do so until T state otherwise. friday and saturday both have 2 acts on the top line and sunday only has one so logically im saying thats possibly a space. it may not be but nobody has given a logical reason why they would leave the sunday with just 1 name so until its denied ill state that could be another act

They've pulled out relatively big names even closer to the festival in the past. I don't see why this year would be any different.

But that was back in the days when the festival sold out pretty much instantly.

With tickets still left to shift, if there were big names then I doubt they would be holding them back for a significant reason.
