What does everyone think paolo nutini will do? I know he's down for a 'co-headline' set, so does this mean he gets the usual hour and half slot? I'd like to see him, but not for that long!

After going to R1BW, I think the T organisers have underestimated the popularity of some acts going by their billing on the stages. Acts like The 1975, Chvrches, You Me at Six, Twin Atlantic, Royal Blood etc. drew bigger crowds than T's sub-headliners (Jake Bugg, Ed Sheeran, Pharrell Williams) and seemed much more festival friendly. I'm not complaining, as it makes the undercard look strong, but I do think they have misjudged the popularity of some of the acts they've booked this year.

I don't want T to end up like reading and leeds though, they've got into the habit of giving newer bands very very high slots, and it's contributed to the festivals lineup quality decreasing each year. Certain slots don't have as much value as they used to. Acts like Ed Sheeran and Pharrell are bigger acts, which warrants why they have higher slots regardless of whether they will have the biggest crowds they are bigger and deserve bigger slots.

By T he will have two, and the debut album was absolutely massive, and his new stuff is shaping up to be just as big.

Sorry but what a load of shit He was playing 90 minute festival slots even before he brought out the new album on which the best five songs last over five minutes each His R1BW set just now comfortably lasted an hour and he didn't even play the three best songs from his first two albums, never mind any covers

One... but what I was talking about was by T he will have 2.

I imagine T booked him knowing his second album was being released around them.

Ed's a step above many though, he's collaborated and worked with some of the biggest acts in the world.

But he's still not a seasoned artist that seemed to be the problem you were saying Reading had. T is exactly the same in that respect, but all major festivals are. Newer acts are cheaper and often more appealing to festivalgoers now.

Oh really? I just looked at the big weekend set and thought he covered most of his stuff comfortably. I'd imagine his set would be 1hr 15 mins anyway.

If he doesn't play Last Request and 10/10 at T there'd probably be tears, look at the reaction the latter got in 2010

Songs like Looking For Something and Diana that he's played at pretty much every gig in 2014 were missing from R1BW as well. Then there's the cover of Chvrches which he's been doing lately which would go down a storm at a Scottish fest.. you may well be right and he might only play 75 minutes but it certainly wouldn't be because of a lack of material.

On a world wide scale Ed Sheeran and Pharrell are much bigger than Paul Weller, and I say that not being a fan of any of them. I'll go against the grain here too and say Weller is very overrated (though he should be playing above Bugg)

Historically weller is of course the bigger act but in terms of a popularity amongst the titp crowd I'm afraid he won't get anywhere near the size of crowd as ed sheeran or pharell, and I'm very much a Paul weller fan.
