I need to pop over to Belgium again and pick up some Jupiler; it's like their version of Tuborg but it is the nicest brand name beer I have tasted, really smooth.

it was awful, some bloke was washing his car and saw the whole ordeal as well. it's worse that I was like 10 metres from getting home and to my own toilet, I'd kept it in on a 40 minute bus journey :|

It's nice compared to Fosters, Carlsberg, etc. IMO.

Obviously compared to every other Belgian beer it's nothing.

Oh I never drink Fosters, Carlsberg etc. anyway. Can't stand any of them. I literally only drink Stella and Corona.

I'm not yet 18 and neither are any of my lot, but my dad will probably buy me some booze (I won't drink that much) before I go, will they search my bag on the way in? (Reading)

If you stick it right at the bottom you'll be fine, they're not going to empty your bag, just have a rummage round the top half

at Download they search you quite properly when one gets into the arena, doesn't happen at Reading, at all (at least not in 2011)

Now I'm 18 and have suddenly stopped being ID'd, I think it's not so much confidence as non-chalance. When you're trying to get served you tend to go up and act really suspicious and have the drink you want pre-chosen, so you get ID'd. If you get there, take a little while to survey your options it seems a lot more normal.

They wouldn't serve me at Rock City once when I was 28 because I didn't have ID, had to get my mate to buy me beer all night, which was rather imbarrasing.

they have proper daft barstaff in there sometimes, me and my mate were almsot dehydrated halfway through a Courteeners gig and went to ask for cups of water, gave us a cup full of ice, what's the point!?

Also, I was planning getting my alcohol at the Tesco on the way past as I really cannot be arsed carrying it all the way there when I can get it pretty much there. However, I'm only 17 but I look quite old (beard, tall) do you reckon whilst the festival's on they are a bit more lenient in asking for ID as they'll just be trying to get everyone in and out as fast as they can?

Everyone I'm going with are 17 as well so won't be able to ask them to get it for me by the way.
