Question time! If I travel by Eurostar into Brussels is there a particular station I could do with arriving at? Or will any of the Brussels stations enable easy access to Leuven? Also I'm not due in Brussels until 8pm on the Weds night, will the festival bus still be running by the time I get into Leuven? And will that take long from Brussels?

Thanks in advance ;)

The entrance to the Brussels Zuid/Midi Eurostar trains is at one end of the main concourse in the station (the west end for those with a sense of direction). 1-3 mins walk from the other platforms, depending on whether you're looking for platform 5 or 18, etc... But if you're arriving from London you also have to factor in a few minutes' extra walk to get off the Eurostar platform if you're in a carriage at the far end of the train...

There are loads of direct trains to Leuven - up to 6 or so an hour, but try to get on an IC (Intercity) rather than a Regional train otherwise it'll take 45 mins instead of 25.

Most (if not all) Intercities to Leuven will also stop at Centraal/Centrale and Noord/Nord.

Thanks for the info. Does anyone know if the shuttle bus runs all night on the Wednesday from Leuven to the festival site?

NMBS/SNCB can we get Intercity on that line? And if I arrive by Eurostar from London is Brussels Nord in the same station?

Thanks!

I have a few questions, people:

1. Just orderd tickets for the Eurostar train from London to Brussels. The train leaves at 6:50 a.m and arrive to brussels in 10 a.m. from there i take a one hour train to Werchter thats included in the festival ticket, right?

Is it ok to get to the camping at 11 a.m?

2. What camping site do you stay on and why?

I need the closest one to the festival, which is it?

3. What do you recommend bringing to the camping?

Thanks.

first time at werchter , got some questions:

1.Is there a supermarket close to the festival where I can buy canned goods and other food for the camp?
2.I have a XL camp ticket, is it possible that my friend will come the day after with regular camping ticket and ask to enter my area claiming we kept a place for him?

Hey...

1. I cant walk much (problems with my legs) and What is the nearest camping site to the festival?

2. Im arriving to brussles midi from london (eurostar train). Where do i go from there? 1 train to werchter? And thats it?

i use the train that comes with the festival..

Where is the neatest and fastest train to the festival from the brussles midi station?

3. Do you think getting there at 12 is late for making the camp and go see the first show?

when did it start last year?

1. There is a small shop in Werchter where you can stock up on the essentials. Werchter village is about a 20 minute walk from the festival site. May be able to get a few bits and pieces at the campsite shop but will likely cost a bit more.

2. No, the only way that you will be able to camp together will be by moving campsite on the Thursday, as everybody that arrives on Wednesday will be put in 'The Hive', which has capacity for XL ticket holders only.

As i see , a lot of people are coming to the festival this year for the first time (including me).

I think it's time to update some essencial things for some people that are not going to stay in the camping so they should know what they must have with them at the festival area (water, sunglasses, money etc).

Guys give us your wisdom!

Weather is an important factor indeed, and very fickle in Belgium. Prepare both for hot sun and rainy days, just in case. Wellies aren't really needed though, rain doesn't turn the field into a mudfest.

I'd recommend renting a locker in the festival area, and keep stuff like sun cream, rain coat/poncho, an extra sweater (like Stretchryan says, once it's dark it gets rather cold) there. That way you only need a few minutes to adapt yourself if the weather decides to change all of a sudden.
