Rock Werchter 2014

I know I've been before, but just 2 questions I need to ask:

1) Is a sleeping bag necessary or will just a blanket do? I know it'd be very warm in the mornings, but can you survive with just a light enough blanket when its dark?

2) Phone chargers...are they still in the mini-lockers or have things changed over the last 7 years? And is there a cost for doing this?

To solve the phone charge issue i've bought one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/TeckNet%C2%AE-15000mAh-Lightning-Sensation-Blackberry/dp/B00FAU7ZB2/ref=sr_1_9?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1400536754&sr=1-9&keywords=external+battery

Should fully charge my HTC 6-8 times which will be more than enough for Werchter and other festivals. Means that i won't need to have the hassle of going to a charging point every day

AHHHHH right!!

So even if i book a ticket from amsterdam to Essen I don't have to actually be on the train that I'm booking the ticket for? As I need to be on a train from Amsterdam to Mechelen?

Is my e-ticket valid for the return journey the day after? As i only have a day ticket for the Saturday.

The fast trains from Amsterdam & Schiphol to Antwerp (change there for Leuven) pass through Essen at high speed, but passing through is good enough as far as making the ticket valid goes. You don't have be on a train that actually stops there.

Return tickets are valid until 11am on the Monday according to the RW website.

When I did this journey last summer I had to change trains somewhere near the border in Holland but can't remember exactly where? Might be that's only the case with certain trains but was only because one of the staff in Rotterdam told me otherwise I would have happily stayed on the train and ended up somewhere or other!

Just a quick one, there's like two barriers at the main stage... What sort of time do these fill up and do they empty or once they're full that's it? Not one to hang around awaiting a band, will be wanting beers and food and just stroll along to an act but wouldn't mind getting close as long as it's not stupid

It's pretty easy to getting into barriers, at werchter you don't really get a lot people just hanging around for hours waiting to see a band.

When it is full they close the barrier of until it empties when an act finishes. I found as long as you are there 5 minutes before an act finishes, you will easily get into which barrier you want for the next act.

I hope I've explained that ok.

Reading the comments there says enough. They all think RW is putting them at the same time to pester people, and that it only takes 5min to switch two different bands on two different stages and times.

It took them 2 months between finishing the line up and announcing the timetable. Do people honestly think that RW didn't try to avoid this clash?

A couple of things: I'm arriving on the Wednesday (due in Brussels Midi/Zuid at 8pm Belgian time) I have an XL camping ticket, my question is will the bus from Leuven to the campsite still be running by the time I get to Leuven? Or will I have to find some other unfortunates and maybe share a taxi?

Also I'm going on my own (boo-hoo!), I'm getting the Eurostar and leaving from Stoke-on-Trent at around 2pm on the Wednesday. Is there anybody else going on their own (or a group) that fancies meeting up for the festival? I'm cool with going on my own and wandering around in the day watching bands, it's just good to have someone to have a laugh with around the campsite (I'll meet people anyway so it's not a massive bother) and in the mornings etc.

I'll give you my Facebook details and we can chat before hand and that! Oh oh oh oh, and is it feasable to sneak small bits of alcohol into the arena each day? Just a little vodka and coke pre-mixed.

Adiós for now!

After a couple of failed attempts I finally got this out of the RW twitter, "There's no set schedule, but buses will run every couple of minutes, and whenever people are waiting for 'em.",

and when I asked whether or not they stop and start at a certain time.. "They do, but they will run from early in the morning to late at night (As long as there are passengers waiting for 'em)"

Edit: Now after some help from a brilliant fellow on twitter, last years timetable (in Dutch): http://www.delijn.be/nieuws/archief/Vlot_van_en_naar_de_festivalweide_in_Werchter_361.htm#2

Seems to run from Leuven to the site until 10pm Wed-Sun, and on the Monday, going back to Leuven the shuttle bus runs from 8am to 1pm

I imagine it'll be similar/the same this year too
