Yeah, this stresses me out. Trump knows it's all part of his populist/fascist playbook, but a huge amount of americans really seem to believe this sh*t. It's playing with fire.
Doesn't have the same civil war uprising theme as last time, the militias don't seem as obviously prominent as before. It feels more like he'll try/fail the legal challenge route and drag it out as long as possible.
I really hope you're right, that would be a good result all round. I can imagine a lot of attention though given to the 'true president in exile' narrative but I just can't see the chance of a coup in the US especially given the number of generals, Cheney etc coming out against him. Hilarious if he went into exile in Russia.
That said, it's easy to forget the US is a pretty young country and perhaps now is the time he feels he can break the system and rule unfettered with the encouragement of half of the country...
