Rock Werchter 2014

Ugh - I've been going every year since 2007 and have seen them 4 or maybe 5 times - lost count! They were awesome the first couple of times but I felt last year they just went through the motions to collect their fee. Totally disinterested. Give me editors any day over kol. Wonder if they are struggling for headliners this year?

Tad disappointed with KOL, seen them many times over the years, love their music but when you're hoping for Foo Fighters and get KOL there's going to be disappointment.

Good thing to come from the announcement it says more festival news soon so hope their to be another announcement, doubt they'd have another one today but maybe tomorrow a bunch of acts?

I'm quite happy with KOL, mainly because Muse are my least favourite band in the world so I'm extremely happy that it's a band I like on Sunday. I know people who go to RW every year are probably sick of them but it's not like RW have kept it a secret that they like to book the same acts. I saw KOL last August and loved them and have actually been wanting to see them again.

I can see them having a co-headliner though.

Really dissapointed to be honest, one of my least favourite bands.

Hoping for something else (Foos maybe) to be announced as the closing act after them, but with the press release saying they'll "top the bill" I don't think I'm too optimistic of that happening now.

And for all I've never actually been to Werchter yet, I think 6 festivals in the last 8 years is ridiculous!

If it does indeed say that KOL are 'closing the festival', then I think they are your 'big' headliner and you'll get Florence on before them. Seems very strange to have held out the announcement for KOL as the last headliner. Anyone reckon something fell through and KOL were the easy option replacement?

Hi, big booommm in the face this morning seen the KOL announcement. A bit dissapointed waiting for things like Muse, or the Foo's. It's just so clear that they had KOL nailed time ago waiting for something bigger to get but the negotiations didn't go through so they've ended up using the plan B. A shame. At least they are not Editors like in 2012.

Breathing a bit after the shock I have to say that although I've seen them many times, after seen them last year headlining Bilbabo BBK I was hoping to see them again this year with the new album out. They were great and the album it's really good. We'll definitelly have a good time.

For those who are still waiting for a co-headlining with other big name, and still hoping Muse or Foo's, forget it, it won't happen. But (although I think it won't happen neither) probably they'll bring to us a good dance final act after them, this would be really nice.

In other things to say I'm not sure what to think about when the new names will come out... tomorrow, next week... who knows, the good news is that the machine is moving again!

Cheers

No, 60.000 tickets in total. 60.000 - 18.000 Saturday tickets = 42.000 tickets sold (comb + Thur + Fri + Sun).

And there are 65.000 combi tickets in total, so no need to worry at all. Unless they get a very impressive undercard, it's just gonna sell out in March/April like it usually does.

Finding headliners this year is a big problem for festivals in general, I've not seen anything but predictable uninspiring headliners.

Blink 182 headlining reading/leeds and probably paramore, then you have kasabian probably headlining gladtonbury. Throughout the UK and Europe Arctic Monkeys are everywhere and not seen anything out of the norm in Europe either.

To make me satisfied I'd like to see Biffy Clyro, The Prodigy, Jack White, The Strokes, White Lies, MGMT, FIDLAR, Jake Bugg, Cage The Elephant & Frank Turner.

Would dislike the possibility of Florence and Kasabian, of which both will happen imo unfortunately...
