Too be fair I'm with Gossard on this one. It's one thing to criticise a line up when you're doing your first foreign festival and you've got plenty of options. But when you've been going for years in a row, you've got a reference point one expects the organisers to hold on to. And I can say from experience that it's hard letting go of that one festival, even with a mediocre line up.

To throw in some line up-related rumours: Bombay Bicycle Club played Brussels last week and made time to have a chat with some of the fans afterwards. Supposedly one of them hinted at playing Werchter.

Still, if you've been going to Werchter for a few years and you're disappointed this year, it does give you the opportunity to try out somewhere new. Definitely better wording than "fuck off and go elsewhere"

Yeah sorry i came across pretty strong but the line up is fairly good for a lot of people thus the reason it sold out a lot quicker than last year.

for me, it isn't about the 'big' names. i'm extremly happy with Moderat, Trentemoeller f.e. and I think that this year, these names are stronger than in the last editions...

Im with Gossard to an extent on wanting more 'rock' stuff, but Id be more inclined to say heavier bands. I am lucky this year that all of the heavier bands are ones I will be seeing though. It would be nice to see 4 or 5 heavier bands now, but I cant see it. Adding Deftones and one more would be nice though.

I'm lucky that there are a lot of bands Id like to see, but wouldn't go to their own shows.

Thursday and Saturday are quite good days, Friday and Sunday could use 2-3 rock acts(heavier bands if you like) each. Deftones would be a brilliant band for either day

Bad Religion but they´ll play a club gig in Brussels in the beginning of June witch could rule them out. I'd love to get Iron Maiden again but I can't see that happening now. Linkin Park if they are willing to play before Arctic Monkeys witch I seriously doubt. So no, I can't see many options...witch brings us again to why RW didn't book bands like Offspring, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Limp Bizkit etc, who are playing Belgian festivals....
