Drinks at V

What drinks do people usually take to V for the campsite?

Is it better to take beers and ciders or pre-mix some drinks and put it in a big bottle?

Whatever's cheapest, Asda had a deal on the other day, 30 cans of Carlsberg for £15! I usually take larger with a little bottle of Jack Daniels or Sailor Jerrys to nock me out at night.

Are they strict with the no glass thing and you have to put it in a plastic bottle, or is it pretty easy to still get an unopened bottle in

It says on the website that it has to be in plastic bottles no bigger than 1 litre. I wouldn't risk taking anything in glass bottles incase you get pulled out the line for a bag search and they confiscate your glass bottled beers!

Yeah I know all the stuff on the site but it says the site opens at 12 noon and people say they get in alot earlier

I dont think ill be taking bottled beer, I was more thinking bottle of some sort of spirit, whatevers on offer when I go buy it

The number of people I see each year having to pay a £1 for a plastic bottle so they dont lose their £14 bottle of smirnoff is shocking. Security must love it as a lot of people just hand over their bottled beer/cider as they cant take it into the campsite.

Are you taking food daniel? I've got a little stove to rustle up some noodles and the all day breakfast in a tin! I will be buying some food but not a lot as i don't fancy paying £7 for a burger and a drink! As for sprits I tend to avoid really cheap stuff as i get really bad hangovers from them. You can get premixed spirits in cans from Tesco. They're a little expensive for what you get but there's loads of different ones to choose from.

You sound like a man with a plan! I'll be doing the same. I just can't think of what to take to eat for breakfast. I have bought breakfast at previous festivals but it really does add up after a weekend and i need to save money where possible.

I think for breakfast I will try limit myself to fruit and brioche type things, so I dont have to worry about things melting or going off (no meat stuff) Plus that means I dont have to pay for stuff once i get into the arena. We have collapsible drinks bottles to fill with stuff and then top up when we are in the arena, and might try get food in to the arena but I dont quite know how strict they are

Anyone really give a fuck what some one else is "taking" to the campsite ? Worry about getting your self up the hill with all your kit wearing your "hunters" before you start worrying about other people's beverages!

I dont have a pair of Hunters. We arent taking loads of stuff it wont be too hard to carry a few bags because I am used to it. Why post such a negative comment though? We are sharing ideas and thoughts and as I have never been to V before I was getting an idea what other people take.

And one last thing,I'd be more worried about when the rain comes an your up to your kness in muddy piss than worrying what the tent next door are drinking! Friday you be all mad up wearing your beyonce tshirt with your face paint on come Sunday when your all rough and hungover hair every were because you had a shit sleep covered in mud! You will think oh glad I made that thread on efest about what next door are drinking!

Im 18 not 17, nice to see you do research before trying to put someone down...badly. No one said people from here will be next door tent to me, I was making convo with people and seemingly not many people want to share their views. Getting an insight on what other people take is helpful before I go shopping the Wednesday before V.
