Arcade Fire

I hope everyone going to watch Arcade Fire on the Friday dresses up (or makes an effort to)!! I think I may try to wear something a little different to my usual festival attire.

I'm definitely gonna be there in the most ridiculously sparkly dress I can find and there's no excuses for anyone I know either because it'll be my pre birthday party that evening too

Will be O2 in London I'd think. (Hope so anyway, Wembley Arena is still just as soulless but a shit hole on top and its the other side of the Jubilee line to me to :P)

In two minds about suiting up for it at Glastonbury, might see if I can find just a cheap jacket or something to bring along...just think I won't wanna it the whole day and when it comes to it, would i be bothered going back to my tent to get it :P

But if can be bothered, good on you!

Would love it if they jut did a larger run of smaller venues like blackpool and roundhouse like November.

Won't be too surprised if this happens. Consecutive nights at smaller venues and then an outdoor/stadium show next summer if they're still touring.

That's what I'm hoping for anyway

can't see it happening myself, more wishful thinking. They did the small shows in November around America and Europe and now they are doing big arena shows in America which i believe they will bring over here too.

On another note who else will be watching the Coachella stream tonight? (Well, tomorrow morning) If I'm right I think it starts at 5.20 our time. Like I said before in this thread I reckon we could get an identical setlist at Glasto to the Coachella one.

I don't, personally. They might go heavier on the new stuff having played Coachella not long ago. Plus, they've already played a number of festivals this year already so I don't reckon Coachella would be more relevant than them.

Well they already seem to have a pretty standard setlist they are going off so whatever they play it isn't going to be too disimilar. I just reckon that if they play a setlist that goes down well at Coachella then they are likely to hardly change it for G because they will know that they are similar in the way that they are both the biggest/most hyped festivals in their respective countries.

Ahh right. Can't speak for London as my city is manchester. They did 2 nights at O2 last time if I remember right though. There is only one arena in Manc so they will play that.

There's 2 arenas in Manchester isn't there? (I assume Central is still open... not been there in a few years). Think Arcade Fire actually played both of them on the Suburbs tour.

Didn't realise it started that late, I'll be getting up for work not long after then! Hopefully someone will record it.

Yeh they did play GMex on the suburbs and it is open still as I was there for a conference a few months back but there hasn't been a gig there in ages, I have no idea what has happened to it in terms of live music.

Yeah someone will have it up on YouTube no doubt (Outkast's is already! :P).

Not sure if I am going watch it or not, might spoilt it a bit? :P ...I reckon setlist will be vaguely similar but Glastonbury might one or two less new songs.

Well you could say the same about Lolla Chile/Brazil/Argentina and BDO for them being the big festivals in those countries. I don't think it means that much just because it's another of the world's big name fests, not something to avoid for fear of spoilers anyway if you've already been following this far. It'll probably be similar to the Chile/Brazil shows recently as those were very similar.

I think I might actually stay up for this one tonight as if it's anything like their last show at Coachella, it'll be excellent. Plus I think they'll put their all in with it being their favourite.

For people who want the small show experience, look out for the occassional afterparties they're doing! Win DJing, and 4 of the band members playing covers, with mere hundreds in attendance.

I dreamed about Arcade Fire at Glastonbury last night by the way.

Before the encore, the crowd sang She Loves You by The Beatles, but with "We Love You" as the lyrics instead. Then the band came on and played it too!

It gets announced about a week or two before the gig and it goes on sale the same day (that's what they've all been like so far at least). Because of the short notice they've ranged from selling out in 5 minutes to 25 minutes so I think it's more about luck of being online at the right time... which worries me I won't get a ticket to one if there is an after show in london (or Dublin, I'm going to both) :(
