Oh, they absolutely at least have to TRY and replicate that ending at Glastonbury. Goosebump worthy.

I know I've been thinking all day how they'll be able to do it, unless (very, very unlikely I know) they install a barrier down the centre of the crowd for Metallica I can't see a way of doing it. Maybe they will just have a 'sub' stage right infront of the crowd in the pit between the stage and the barrier, they could stand there and play. Still not the same effect.

Depends if Glastonbury holds the special significance for them that we all hope it does

I reckon it will, people like Chris Martin will have let them know how big a deal it is, and it feels like they have a special connection with the British fans.

Might not be the same ending, could be all sorts of things they may have up their sleeve!

They've been doing various funny things with the bobbleheads for example, and they're growing in number all the time! I'm sure I saw a Justin Bieber one on that live stream! :D

They weren't very fond of Glasto after 07. Hopefully we can make it a special night for them this time.

Heard this again and again, but seen no evidence.

Even if that was the case 7 years ago, it doesn't seem to be now. On the announcement of them headlining, Win said "It's great, it's such a communal, rite of passage in the UK and there's this very communal spirit to the whole thing, which is our band's thing,"

I can't stop watching,i too have been thinking all day how they can do that finish but would be more special if they came up with an ending just for us.

More bobble heads for glasto,i really wanted to make one and wear it in the crowd.

I really can't wait for this.

Wow loads of people wearing papier mache bobble heads would be pretty amazing, im sorely tempted!

someone made a proper effort and made their own at the Blackpool show. Pretty sure it made its way through the crowd throughout the night. I think my new ambition in life now is to be on stage with them wearing a bobblehead.

Bloody hell I thought making a bobble head was ambitious enough, now you're just being ridiculous!

One can dream. The people at the uk shows wearing them only worked for the show promoters so should befriend some people in the know I reckon (I realise there's more chance of Bowie joining them on stage)

I had the great misfortune of experiencing true, unbridled jealousy of having one of my friends get to parade around in one of the bobbleheads on the Reflektors tour for that very reason.

No evidence? Here's Richard Reed Parry saying it was "horrible", he didn't "really relate to the 'magic' part of the festival... I'm just like OK: some people love this", and saying festivals are "a sort of hell" because they have to wait in "some goddamned tent": http://drownedinsound.com/in_depth/2187323-arcade-fire-on-the-festival-circuit--its-kinda-crazy

It was very wet that year, but he comes across as a right dick. Hope he's sorted his attitude out by now.

Yeah, I'd never seen that before. But Richie's not being a dick there! Just admitting he didn't get it that time. Funny to think there's been 7 years of people thinking "Arcade Fire don't like Glastonbury" due to one of the band members making an off-hand comment about how he didn't connect with the magic on that day.

He's very conversationalist and up-front in interviews, seems like he was having a bad day, and probably doesn't even remember saying that, haha. :P

Let's not miss quote him, he was talking about the weather. And him not connecting with the 'magic'of the festival isn't really that bad. You can't expect everyone to think that it's the best place on earth

I don't expect everyone to love it. I was replying to someone who said they'd seen no evidence of AF not loving it in '07. He said "the site" was "rainy and horrible"; and the stuff about not relating to the magic, festivals being "a sort of hell" and waiting in "some goddamned tent" was certainly nothing to do with the weather. How many other acts have ever whinged like that? He came across as a spoilt rockstar.

And here's a Telegraph interview with the band later that year in which their Glasto appearance is described as "unhappy": http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/music/3669254/Arcade-Fire-The-Fire-that-lit-up-the-world.html

I seem to remember Win having a weird go at someone in the crowd (?) during it too.

Certainly generally accepted that they did not enjoy themselves. I'm sure it'll be better this time around.

Yeah, but the first comment about it being horrible was clearly about the weather, and the latter stuff wasn’t even specifically about Glastonbury.

Anyway, he’s one of several members in the band. Maybe the rest loved it.
