BBC One (or Two perhaps...), Friday night, Glastonbury. *If they put on a good show* their album sales will go through the roof, likewise there will probably be much higher demand for tickets if they go on a UK arena tour in the Autumn/Winter.

Even U2, who are a household name and put on a fairly sub-par performance, got a 700%+ rise in album sales.

Mumford average - 372% increase

Stones - 334%

Arctic Monkeys - New material not out at the time, but debut album went up by 8,000%+, and others all went up too.

i remember they put up the preorder for the album on itunes after glasto and it fluctuated between 1 & 5 on there all the way up to it's release.

Like I've said, I think it'd have been the same without Glastonbury. Black Treacle came out a month before R U Mine and was 150 places lower in the charts, as I'm sure you're more than aware. Their new image did them a world of good, plus the Olympics I suppose. DIWK was out before Glastonbury and that was huge.

Very true, the Olympics is something I forgot about.

New, more 'teen friendly' image (in my opinion), Olympics, Record Store Day etc. all contributed. I imagine Glastonbury would have helped in terms of increasing sales of their back catalogue, which consequently *helped* achieve a higher number of sales for the latest record.

Tell them not to judge a band until they've seen them live. I'm not a massive fan, but I can hear something in their music which I know I'll appreciate live so I'm looking forward to it.

I kinda think the Glastonbury crowd might be more suited to the sing along at the end. The crowds in Coachella seems to be more interested in filming stuff than in enjoying it. Also Blur - Tender, there's already a precedent for it!

Bar the lack of keep the car running that's a pretty an amazing setlist. Good to see crown of love there and all the right choices off of reflektor imo
