EddieB72
Hello everyone I am going to weston park with the mrs and daughter on Friday I'm a little confused regarding the camping situation so any advice given will be taken on board and much appreciated I've sourced 3 tickets via a third party site 2 bought together other ticket on its own, will we be able to pitch together? Or will the tickets be split ie 2 on one site and the other on its own? I'm a first timer at a festival so haven't a clue how all this works Regards Eddie
HOLYFIRE
If all three tickets are for Weston Park then you'll be able to camp together. There's a number of different camp sites named after colours (Red, Blue, Orange, Gold etc) When you arrive they'll receive you wristbands then you can all choose which campsite is best. Some are closer to the main arena others are a 15 minute walk away, Some are loud and others are quieter etc It all depends on what appeals to you. I hope this helps. HOLYFIRE
Yeah the festival is your oyster once you're in man! You just walk up to any colour camp you want and pitch up there. I would like to say, since your a family, avoid Red, Blue, Yellow and possibly Orange as they are wild, noisy and the majority of people in there will be pissed teenagers jumping around all night. You can't avoid all the trouble as there's always an idiot in each camp. I would recommend camping in Green, Gray, Silver or maybe Gold. I'm personally going to go for Green or Grey depending on how full they are when I arrive. It's about a 15 minute walk to the main arena but apparently you can get some sleep and it's not full of idiots like Red camp etc. Don't camp near the toilets either haha. EddieB72
I've had a good read around on here and your right avoid the ones you mentioned!! As you stated we're a family, were up for some fun but not too boisterous lol Think green is the way to go Just a quickie if you can help? How far is it from the car parks as they've probably packed everything bar kitchen sink and muggings here is the one shifting it too and foe lol And yes toilets a no go ha ha Thanks again for replies much appreciated Eddie
BumbleEE
As previously mentioned when you turn up at the car park you walk in with all your stuff and just find a place to pitch your tent, you'll notice all the campsites have flags with the colours on denoting which one it is, so you'll know which one red is to avoid etc... The car parks all depends on which way you go and also which way they are directing the traffic to be honest, they can be anything from 15 min walk to over an hour! I recommend a trolley or some way of transporting all the stuff!
EddieB72
Thanks BumbleEE for input An hr FFs I'm coming from bolton but not a clue how the traffic will flow I'm just winging it ,, will look out for a trolley before hand, sounds like a plan does that Cheers Eddie
HOLYFIRE
We've got backpacks and one those little shopping trollies that older people usually take shopping but there's only two of us haha. I'm guessing your going to need something more heavy duty!
BumbleEE
If your coming with 2 women be prepared!! We have a trolley that we pack everything on to and wrap up to make an easier walk to campsite. When you leave the motorway they have signs directing the traffic so they will direct you where they want so just follow the signs then follow the crowds from the car park towards campsites! dan273
With regards to parking you'd be best avoiding west car park as this is furthest from the campsites your likely to stay in, also there are big roadworks on the motorway over the festival so (and bear in mind i don't know where Bolton is!) the best way in is probably from the A5 going west. Hopefully you'll be directed to the east car park this way. We are coming from Coventry, which means ill most likely head toward Tamworth (M6 - M42) get off at J10 of the M42 and head west on the A5 until i hit the festival. Johnny Rotten
Hi, great advice people, i've been for the last 12 years and camped loads of times, been Gold last few years and people are right you get dick heads anywhere you go but generally fine. Any car park you end up on is usually a good 15 to 30 minutes away from where you eventually pitch your tent, just take your time. Point to note is if you end up on a carpark that is not on the west side once you walk through a checkpoint after showing your ticket you need to go and get your wrist band, so my advice is dont try and take all your stuff at once take a few trips. I live 10 mins from the site and still camp as a better laugh, Friday night is classic festival parties with people going mental!!! Hope you enjoy your 1st festival. If you need anything else answering then shout up.
