What Artists Did R&L Sleep On?

To be fair they usually do a pretty good job of prediciting rising acts, sometimes they undervalue them and tents get packed but at least they get them. Every year when we all complain about bookings and high slots for new bands more often than not by the time the festival rolls round they get good crowds and it's the older acts that don't pull in the punters.

For this reason while I love them I think Yeah Yeah Yeahs may not have been a great booking, but I do agree that Miles Kane would have been popular and it's odd that he didn't do V or R&L.

Yeah good point, when you look at the V line-up that one stands out. Why would they choose to play a festival like that when they can't even get their name right on the poster? Who knows, maybe money, maybe it fitted in with their other dates, but you'd like to think that R&L would have made a play for them (although you could say the same for BRMC and they don't seem to give a fuck about them any more).

Also there were a whole host of potential lock up big hitters in Europe in August (Pennywise, NOFX, Bad Religion, Flogging Molly) as well as heavier bands like Billy Talent and Fucked Up who could have evened out the perceived weaker areas.

I think they'd do well to get some heavy bands on the main stage like they did this year as they went down really well such as:

Parkway Drive

A Day To Remember

Architects

Also Kendrick Lamar would be a great booking and I'm pretty sure R&L will pounce on him.
