I thought they were crap at Glasto, that's what I'm basing it on. People weren't into the jams and stuff and you could hear too much chattering. Playing inside a venue/tent where the sound doesn't float off into the sky is much preferrable. Just my thoughts though.

It seemed pretty dead on the BBC streaming of Reading too, but they did have Chase + Status and Eminem following them, plus I wasn't there so couldn't judge.

I loved Foals at Leeds but the amount of C&S and Eminem fans ruined it a bit and some of the stuff from Latitude looked pretty good as well

They were decent at Latitude. Not a patch on the first three times I saw them but good.

Not so good I didn't wander off to Beach House halfway through, but good nonetheless.

First two times I'd seen them I was convinced they were Britain's foremost current live act. Didn't get to watch them down the pub or wherever you were watching them though. :P

Yeah everything i've heard has just been sublime. I assume it translated very well live? I've no idea what they are like as a live band, just listened to them on record so far.

It was good, they crafted that dreamy atmosphere really well. The sort of performance where you just stand there and let the music wash through you.

I would've thought crowds were probably a problem for Foals at a lot of their festival sets this year.

They're in that position where they're big enough to draw a decent sized crowds, but they're playing slots just before huge acts and so a large proportion are there because they feel the need to be.

There's also of course the fact they've picked up a lot of fans with Holy Fire, which means perhaps earlier songs don't get the reception they used to.

Good to hear :)

Another great band i need to see.

I've ticked off the vast majority I feel I need to see, ones left are Tool, Daft Punk, The Unicorns, Bright Eyes (I hate you a little bit), Boards of Canada and Low. Short of any surprising reunions anyway (well, NMH and J5 as well, but I've got tickets for them).

Won't have been a problem at Latitude :P

Have you seen the Tool thread in the Glastonbury section? Great read.
