truthpigeon
What about Jay-Z? He's relevant still, kinda. And he could bring Beyonce on stage lol Does R&L's organisers/ bookers etc still have the kind of money in the current fest climate to get Jay-Z and Beyonce? I mean hell when Paramore lost the sound at Reading it went all Kumbayah at a caravan BBQ.
mattgimmeshelter
The Vaccines will sub I reckon, I don't believe the "when we come back we'l headline" thing... bit of a dickish thing to say. I think they will sub the foo's
dentalplan
What about Jay-Z? He's relevant still, kinda. And he could bring Beyonce on stage lol Oh aye. I forgot he existed. Does R&L's organisers/ bookers etc still have the kind of money in the current fest climate to get Jay-Z and Beyonce? I mean hell when Paramore lost the sound at Reading it went all Kumbayah at a caravan BBQ. No Beyoncé.
truthpigeon
Any word if Outkast are carrying on touring? They'd be a choice booking in my eyes as the Nostalgic/ No new material headliner a la The Cure.
dentalplan
I think they're finishing the tour and then disbanding again and doing solo albums. I imagine the headliners will all be guitar bands if that's the tidbit MB gave.
Yellow_Fellow
I'd be surprised if they couldn't get Jay Z considering they got Eminem who plays bigger places in the UK
mattgimmeshelter
I'd be surprised if they couldn't get Jay Z considering they got Eminem who plays bigger places in the UK I agree, Eminem seems like a much more difficult booking than Jay Z. Eminem barely tours, and Jay Z tours alot. So i'm surprised they've brought back Eminem but not brought back Jay Z since.

Does 50 cent have crossover appeal? Yes. Yes. Yes at the time ten years ago. Edit: actually 50 Cent might not have had judging by his reception. mattgimmeshelter
I don't think booking Jay Z would be an issue for reading in terms of crowd opinion anyway.
dentalplan
No me neither. All that was said was that Eminem had more crossover appeal. Not that he had it and Jay Z didn't. Crossover appeal.
#FreeComTruise
What about Watch the Throne? They're intending on releasing a new album at some point, double the well known hits and less likely to get a Kanye rant Don't think that's at all likely mind
dentalplan
Me neither. They never brought that to a festival did they? Price would probably be astronomical.

Kanye will be too focused on his new album I reckon, I think Jay Z might be taking a break with Beyonce though, they both have toured alot over the past year. I can't see Jay Z being in the frame for next year at all to be honest. Kanye will be active though...
Tobieski
Didn't Kanye get all bitchy when Jay Z and Beyoncé didn't go to the wedding? I think the WTT project is on the rocks for now.
dentalplan
Did anyone read what MB said about FR opening a similar festival to R+L in mainland Europe around R+L time? Might be an interesting prospect if it can breathe some life back into the late summer circuit and help secure some bigger acts. Got cancelled after one year. I think the main issue though is the lack of touring acts. I don't think having more festivals would encourage more acts to tour. And of course it encourages more acts to tour around the time if they can get more paydays to make it worth doing.
Triumvirate
I'll guess Libertines and Black Keys co headline / Ed Sheeran Metallica / Skrillex / BMTH / Royal Blood Muse / TDCC / Alt-J
Andre91
The Prodigy, The Black Keys & Metallica. Jay Z is in with a shout though I reckon. Linkin Park would be such a poor booking, but I wouldn't count them out. Edited August 31, 2014 by Andre91

TenInchToenaiIs
Linkin Park sub Jay Z and do that weird album thing they released in like 2002
#FreeComTruise
Me neither. They never brought that to a festival did they? Price would probably be astronomical. No they didn't, technically, but Kanye did join Jay-Z at Hackney for a few WTT songs which means it's not entirely impossible. If they booked someone like Foals/The Vaccines to headline one of the other nights they might be able to afford it. Not gonna happen so I don't why I'm justifying it but it'd definitely be an interesting booking Think that's something that's been hinted / suggested but never actually confirmed. That's why I used the words "intending" and "at some point" rather than "they are" and "next year"
