To be honest I doubt they'll get big unless they change their sound quite a bit and I don't think they'll do that. Anyway never really understood these guys at all. The drummer is Billie Joe Armstongs song and he wants to distance himself from him by not getting any help but the first thing I thought of when I listened to them was that is was Green Day but I did listen to two songs earlier and some of them are a bit different and they've still have help from his dad anyway. Anyway I'm seeing them support Rise Against in November so I'll make a fair judgement then

They probably will if Green Day fans adopt them. 'Getting help from' probably doesn't mean what you think it means. I assume it means they're not getting BJA to sort them out a record deal and all the stuff that goes with that, not songwriting. Can see them in one of the low main stage slots next year.

Oh right. Surprised (if) it's that cut and dried but it loosely makes sense I guess. Assuming it doesn't apply across the board eg. 30STM having a no. 5 album and doing arenas and what not.

Some of their later stuff does have a bit of a The Beachboys feel to it (don't know about the Vampire Weekend) but this sounds like an American Idiot B Side to me

I know that, some of it is not their fault (I just wish magazines like Kerrang and Rocksound stop going on about the drummer is BJA son) and he probably didn't help get the record contract but to afford that gear at the age and they probably would have used facilities that his father has (practice space and probably a place they can record stuff like early demos) so they're probably not really coming up against the problems from start like Green Day probably would have had. But then again if you had access to such things you'd be a fool not to take it

They sound like FIDLAR or Wavves. I guess that's the California "punk" sound these days, rather than what Green Day, The Offspring or Rancid sounded like in the 90s. More hipster than skater dude.

Better than anything Green Day have done over the past decade anyway.

I sat next to her in Physics in sixth and I barely knew her so I asked her what music she liked and I was listening to Foals at the time so I asked her if she liked them. Still a weird story mind you but we're good friends now so I guess it must have worked
