jump
Where are they apparently being lined up to headline Other? Do you mean where that rumour is coming from? If not the 2nd stage at Glaso is called The Other.

rawaudioinput
New Royal Blood tour: Glasgow, Barrowland (February 22) Plymouth, Pavilions (27) Bridlington, Spa (28) Portsmouth, Guildhall (March 2) Newport, Centre (3) Norwich, UEA (5) Blackpool, Empress Ballroom (6) Wolverhampton, Civic Hall (11) London, O2 Academy Brixton (13) Nottingham, Rock City (14) Surprising that they're playing Bridlington, that venue is usually reserved for arena bands doing warm-ups
dentalplan
It isn't all the time, but about half the music gigs are like that yeah. I saw an advert yesterday with Royal Blood's logo with UK tour 2015 in the corner yesterday and clicked it and it just showed me all the sold out 2014 dates so I thought nothing more of it. Definitely moving up through the venues now though.
sjseabass
Can Portsmouth get some gigs from the decent-sized touring bands that always miss here instead of Royal Blood twice in the space of four months please
tyranicide
Hopefully I'll get tickets to see them in Newport. They were great at reading, the album is amazing and I can't wait to see them again
dentalplan
I only just spotted that Mikey Shoes' (current QOTSA bassist) band Mini Mansions is doing support for the tour. That's kinda cool.

Spud001
Didn't they play FR one year? 2011, think they did that and have done one headline show and thats it Edit: I think Edited October 14, 2014 by Spud001
sjseabass
Half the gigs I go to are in Portsmouth, it's probably the best served city on the South Coast aside from Brighton True, but I feel like it's a little bit of a case of usual suspects - plenty of decent (usually British) bands come down here repeatedly, whereas some bands, that would be the right size for the Guildhall or Pyramids, miss it tour after tour. But yeah, I shouldn't complain, I guess - things could certainly be a lot worse
Chavmeisterdeluxe
Well try living in Salisbury, we have a decent 1200 capacity venue that gets nothing but tribute bands with the odd band that have released a song this decade sprinkled in. It's good for smaller gigs though and the opening of the new 900 cap venue should be good.
the wonderwhy
It's better than Portsmouth fucking Pyramids. It's a swimming pool ffs.
rawaudioinput
I swear I read somewhere that the Guildhall's acoustics are so good there's a rumour that The Cure rehearse there before every tour Also when you say the new 900 cap venue do you mean The 1865? It's better than Portsmouth fucking Pyramids. It's a swimming pool ffs. FloorFiller
Alt-J are probably a sub but Frank Turner and Weezer? nah (unless i'm totally missing how big Frank's gotten. i know his star has risen somewhat but to sub status?) dentalplan
Frank Turner will likely do an arena tour early next year so you could argue a case for him being a sub. Weezer aren't subs though.
