Lineup 2015

I don't think a headline slot for the Libs would make R&L look weak, there will be loads of Libs fans that wouldn't have got near Glasto tickets. The Strokes/Blink-182 booking lower down the T bill in 2011 didn't make the R&L line ups of 2010/2011seem any weaker in my opinion so I don't think Glasto will impact on the strength of a Libs headline slot.

Yeah but, for instance, he could be wanting to see a full Libertines set in the dark with a proper stage show, and if he doesn't get to see that, he'd like that slot to go to another good band he'd enjoy rather than Mumford and Sons.

Same with QOTSA last year, I'd have wanted to see them headline, or, if not, sub to someone good. If either of those situations happened I'd have gone. In the end they subbed Paramore at Leeds so I didn't go.

This is what I meant, if Libs sub M&S (for example) and then there's no other good alternatives then my only choices are watch Mumford and Sons so Id rather watch someone I enjoy

Surely them playing Glastonbury has little effect for R&L. Glastonbury has already sold out so libs fans cant get tickets for that.

If I was Melvin I would rarther have Libs sub Glasto and headline Leeds then have them play T and Leeds.

Well I don't think they've ever shared an act who's headlining either (unless you choose to count Pulp's secret Glastonbury set) so I think there's a good chance it's something they consider rather than just coincidence. R+L do want to sell tickets to people who have are off to Glastonbury as well.

T have historically not had to worry much about exclusivity as the English fests just seem to want to edge each other out rather than get the whole UK exclusive.

Will that affect whether it'll be Libs announced on Monday? Would seem a lil boring. Although was it the same with AM last year? Announced for T the week before R&L.

AM were announced for T in the middle of November, can't remember when they were announced for R&L but it was later than that wasn't it?

And yet how many R&L headliners have played Glasto in the same year? This list isn't spectacularly long.

It might happen this year, but saying "surely it has little effect" is a bit presumptuous.
