the wonderwhy
My mate just told me he reckons Libs are headlining because he heard Fearne Cotton 'basically say it' on te radio today? Anyone know what he's on about?

conroy17
if he's been willing to sub the other stage at glasto surely its not beyond the realms of possibility...

Gucci Piggy
if he's been willing to sub the other stage at glasto surely its not beyond the realms of possibility... He said something not long ago about festivals trying to book them under one hit wonder bands. R&L sounds the most likely to do that. Although tbh I'm not sure they'd try to book them at all. It's just unlikely to be glasto, a small fest or somewhere like v that just wouldn't book them

mrtourette
Yeah there's no reason to think that's R&L ahead of a number of UK or European festivals.

It's just unlikely to be glasto, a small fest or somewhere like v that just wouldn't book them But it was about this year, wasn't it? Download don't have any acts higher than they'd play which are one hit wonders. Ah I thought he was talking specifically about UK festivals. Gucci Piggy
Because Metallica are such a one hit wonder... What? Evidently I'm talking about them being booked like third down below a one hit wonder; not below Metallica.

Ah I thought he was talking specifically about UK festivals. Billy probably thinks that anyone he doesn't love is a one hit wonder. I don't think you can take the moan literally. Just that he's pissy about the slots on offer
justanothername
Because Metallica are such a one hit wonder... If they were offered a sub slot it might have not have been Metallica and like Will said they could have been offered 3rd as well Also Wireless has two sets of co headliners this year so knowing FR the rest there will not only be two co headliner sets but every stage will have co headliners every night
justanothername
Also Kendrick Lamar is Co headlining Wireless festival so I don't think he'll be R&L
Andre91
Pumpkins into Metallica would be mega.

Just that he's pissy about the slots on offer Yeah tbf he'd probably describe someone like Muse as a one hit wonder if he's offered a sub slot below them. Although I don't think he'd moan about sub slots. But yeah, could just be about any act that's remotely new.
conroy17
of all the possibilities for that metallica sub slot smashing pumpkins would be the best and for that exact reason fall out boy will be subbing metallica
dentalplan
Yeah there's no reason to think that's R&L ahead of a number of UK or European festivals. But Corgan revealed that The Smashing Pumpkins have so far turned down offers to play UK festivals next summer, because they’ve been “disappointing”. Corgan said: “If we get the slots we want, we’ll come. But we’ve seen who else is on the bill, and we’re expected to go on before a band who have had one quasi-hit that’s not even that popular. Sorry, but that didn’t work for me in 1992 and it doesn’t work for me now. The funny thing is, the more that ‘Monuments…’ is kicking in, the more phone calls we’re getting. We’re getting calls asking for us, because they ain’t selling tickets. But how is it that The Smashing Pumpkins still sell tickets, but you’re offering me this poor slot? It’s disappointing.” http://www.nme.com/news/smashing-pumpkins/81969 Edited January 30, 2015 by dentalplan

Gucci Piggy
Whoever said it before, legit Imagine Dragons > Metallica. Also, that was more specific about the "one hit wonder" part than I remembered. Does sound like he was talking about an actual one hit wonder band rather than just any new band.
