dentalplan
wow will fire up that final sub thread. We don't know for sure that The Vaccines and Alt-J are there though. Frank Turner's just as obvious.
Amy Lawn
My plans to go to R&L this year rapidly being shelved, I'd rather just look back on it with rose-tinted glasses, ta.
KyHunt
If you're talking about Reading, Metallica are headlining the Saturday metallica are saturday. Ah okay, cheers!
Gucci Piggy
To be fair, as shite as it is, the bookings aren't bad size-wise (except I have no clue wtf Rebel Sound is). Bastille and Royal Blood 3rd down isn't bad, when we were considering Royal Blood subbing this morning and them being exclusive. Deadmau5 headlining NME is big, too, if it happens. Where do we normally get the press release from confirming some placements?
rivalschools.price
Listened to the announcement on the car radio. It's the first time I've heard a complete Mumfords track. They are shite! I genuinely couldn't believe how bad they were, they sound like the kind of band you get at crap village fayres. Sounded like the sort of stuff my mum listens to, and she's 65. I'd love to meet their Promotion people, they are amazing. To make this band attractive to youngsters and headlining festivals is nothing short of marketing genius. Please, please Reading gods, put Refused on at the same time as Mumfords.
DGrant261
Apologies on behalf of all teenagers for Bastille ending up playing the main stage at Reading. Also have people pretty much ruled out the Maccabees?
Rose-Colored Boy
We don't know for sure that The Vaccines and Alt-J are there though. Yep. Information on V is so thin on the ground this year, it's not impossible that they've snared one of those.
Gucci Piggy
We don't know for sure that The Vaccines and Alt-J are there though. Frank Turner's just as obvious. He is as obvious as them to play the festival, but I think knowing (it seems) the 3rd down acts makes him slightly less likely, because he probably isn't sub sized. Whereas Vaccines and alt-J are. Andre91
How is this Rebel Sound thing big enough to headline the NME? Has their position been confirmed?

Also have people pretty much ruled out the Maccabees? I thought they were certainties to play 3rd down. Suppose they could play 4th

Whereas Vaccines and alt-J are. Because them two have played the O2? Frank Turner has as well. Possible he could be third and Jamie T is sub or something but he's not gonna be 4th after growing a fair bit since last time.
Gucci Piggy
Surprised Mumford are at R&L rather than V though, tbf. Would have thought if they were around they'd snap em up as one of the few bands who they could have headline.
justanothername
How is this Rebel Sound thing big enough to headline the NME? Has their position been confirmed? I think they're and I find it odd as I have never heard of Rebel Sound until today but then again sticking Chase & Status at the bottom will do that

KingPin
If Bastille and Royal Blood can play third down surely the real Chase and Status are now headline size especially if a derivative of them can headline the NME stage? IF their next album gets them momentum again after New Machine was disappointing, then yeah I think they are, it was rammed in 2013, and electronic music only continues to grow. Would probably need a strong crossover act to sub them though, and is there really anybody out there big enough to make the transition to open air whilst still putting on a good show? justanothername
because they're fucking good If that was the case how come Refused aren't headlining
