It's an extensive tour of small venues, once this jaunt is done I reckon their next stint will be a very short academy tour, which isn't really NME sub level

This is the level Chvrches were at 4 months after subbing the NME stage, so Peace subbing really isn't a bad booking

just praying its a good date. im hoping its somerset house and not one of the parks

Never been to somerset house but damn it looks brilliant. I read the capacity is circa 3,000 which seems a little small to me, but that's all conjecture, I guess we won't have any real idea of a venue (and more importantly its size) until they reveal more of their plans. I personally can't see them only doing one London gig, but then again it's an anniversary event so anythings possible.

i think if they are propperly touring instead of it being a one off gig, starting somewhere intimate like that sounds good, besides im hoping its not hyde park :P tickets for somerset house are about 35ish which is reasonable and itd be quite a nice place to be for their reunion. also other than lovebox i can't see something else that gives the right date frame if they are doing a european festival in august as was leaked.

If it was meant to be an "intimate" tour why did they add dates according to demand and have some of the shows on the tour taking place more than a month after the album is released? What's the promotional sense in that?

Maybe they just prefer to play and feel they work better in a smaller setting. The tour was originally 12 dates spread out across 2 months and now a lot of the gaps have been filled in and it's nearly 30 dates. If it was their actual tour and they wanted to play as few gigs as possible then why not just upgrade to the academies?

As it's been pointed out, there are way too many discrepancies to actually correlate gigs and placings but they were 6th down on the main stage last year and unless they've declined in popularity then NME sub minimum is a pretty obvious shout, and NME headliner isn't far off.
