Lineup 2015

Imagine not thinking that Metallica would be band of the weekend at any festival they play at, by a country mile. Ridiculous live.

Aye, I know I (and most others) have seen it all before a million times, but that doesn't mean it's not incredible each time. Had a whale of a time. No goddamn Battery at Leeds though - my favourite song, fourth time seeing em and it always manages to evade me

The Libertines seemed good, but compared to when the likes of Muse, Foo Fighters and Biffy Clyro have closed Reading and pulled out the stops and put on massive shows, they just looked a bit tame in comparison. Out of the three headliners they looked the weakest, and they should have subbed to someone. Their live show doesn't look right as a headline act and it didn't really feel like an "event" like those bands performances did.

hang on is this sarcasm or not?

Also if you didn't come this year they're not accommodating for you next year, everything eFestivals hates (on average) was by far the best received stuff on site

I thought they looked brilliant, but the crowd looked dead. Pretty much how I remember their 2008 performance.

Back from Leeds and honestly, what a weekend. Of the four years that I've been doing the full weekend, this year was the best by a mile. Absolutely perfect.

Saw some incredible performances, some not so much and saw some by bands I hadn't planned on seeing.

The main highlights for me were obviously Metallica. I was in awe. I've been wanting to see them since I was 14 and it was everything I expected and more, I can't remember the last time I felt so genuinely happy watching a band, I couldn't stop smiling.

Limp Bizkit were the other major standout. Phenomenal. The best crowd I was in all weekend, the energy didn't let up for one minute.

Few others that stood out were Don Broco, who were as good as always, although their set seemed really short, but I'm going to their tour in December so that should be a lot better.

Neck Deep were great, and I met Ben yesterday during BMTH's set, I turned to the side and he was stood next to me in the crowd. Had a little chat with him and got a picture, seemed a really nice guy. Speaking of BMTH, they absolutely smashed it. Watching them now compared to when I first saw them in 2011 was a massive contrast, they've become so polished now as a live act. The one gripe I have is about the setlist, WHO THE HELL DO THEY THINK THEY ARE DROPPING CHELSEA SMILE AT LEEDS ? Happy Song sounded absolutely huge live, as well as Drown. I crowd surfed during Sleepwalking, my friend got to high five Oli which was amazing, I didn't quite get close enough to him to do it myself.

Pierce The Veil were impressive. Great live band and Vic is a very good live singer and guitarist.

Knife Party was great fun, apart from the stupid girl who climbed up one of the towers. She was seriously high up and watching it made me feel sick. Props to Knife Party though for stopping the set to make sure she got down safe.

Bury Tomorrow were incredible. They are a brilliant live band and Dan has so much presence about him, I hope they get bigger and bigger.

There's so many others too but these were the standouts. Leeds 2015 will be very very hard to beat.

What did you want/expect them to do?! You say this as if Metallica haven't been playing the same set for like twenty years. As far as Metallica sets go, I thought they nailed it

Anything interesting. At all. You can't give them merit for attaining to their own standards when everyone elses (and I do mean everyone elses) were much higher.

Sounds to me like you went to a Metallica show expecting to see something other than a Metallica show. Unless they start playing heavily from St Anger or Kirk rides a unicycle as he shreds, then I can't see what else they could do

The Libertines have been solid, but it just hasn't felt like a headline set. Thought they looked better in 2010, and at Glastonbury.

That's because both times were in their rightful spot and you didn't expect that 'extra something' from them. As for your FATM bit, they'll headline where they play next year without a doubt. It'll be T and then Reading or IOW.

Highlights - The Smith Street Band, The Menzingers, New Found Glory, The Skints, Against Me! The Gaslight Anthem, Cancer Bats and Frank Turner. (I missed the whole of Saturday becuause I went to London to see The Gaslight Anthem) The weather held out too which was a bonus!

Lowlights - The closure of orange gate, seriously fucking annoying.
