Weyfest 2013

Hi folks,

Surprised that there isn't a thread on this yet, or at least one I could find using the search function.

Going for the first time tomorrow. Really looking forward to it. Only 2,500 daily capacity? Should know everyone by the time it finishes then.

The best thing about it is that we can take our dog!!! One of the few festivals that allow dogs.

Lineup includes: Nine Below Zero, The Stranglers, UB40, Echo & The Bunnymen, The Strawbs, The Temperance Movement, Hawklords & 2/3rds of The Jam. And a whole bunch of other acts I've either never heard of or not that interested in.

Anyone else on here going?

It's great, and yes, you do start to recognise people, particularly if you're camping, including the organising team who camp with everyone else. It's small enough that you can pop back to the tent for something and be back to catch the end of the same number, or flit between stages if there's a clash of interests (but there's not generally any significant overspill of sound between stages). Do support the Rustic Stage which has newer acts on; variable quality but you can chance on a real gem if you're lucky. The Rural Life Centre is a great venue with plenty to do/look at if you want a break from the music.

Our 5th year I think, and really looking forward to it.

Weyfest 2013 was excellent! Great festival, great people and really good bands. Oh, and the weather was perfect!

And our dog Scooby enjoyed it!

Will definitely try for tickets next year.
