Crap bands and their crap songs

Yellowmore since you're anti-Oliveri because he has hit his girlfriend, why are you such a vocal supporter of Kanye West/c**t even though he's had multiple exs claim he's hit them?

I'm not a Oliveri fan and not fussed if he joins Queens or (most likely) not but I don't understand why Oliveri gets so much hate when Sean Connery publicly states men have the right to hit their women, Ghandi claims women can't be raped as it's their purpose to service men and Jimmy Page kidnapped and statutory raped a girl yet are revered.

Looking at getting a ticket for the Leeds Sunday next year, my little brother will be of festival age then, so I want to christen him in the same festival waters that I was (and this year's TV coverage gave me a pang of nostalgia for the place). GY!BE would suit me right down to the ground, not sure what my wee brother will make of them, but I've spent a lot of time moulding his brain to like weird music, so I'll consider it my next challenge.

I get the feeling that the attitude is different between generations of Queens fans. When they started out broke through he was as much the face of QOTSA as Josh was. Ying and yang. It doesn't really shine through on studio output so people aren't gonna pick up on the significance he had to the band's growth and he's easily considered just the bassist that got fired for hitting his girlfriend, and why he's compared to current bassist Mikey who is as good a bassist but doesn't have the edge Nick had.

Like I've said already, him rejoining would be as odd as - I guess - if Dave Grohl rejoined as the band has completely developed since those days.

I was kidding about GY!BE. Would be somewhat of a shock if they played R+L.

Where does one start with The Microphones?

They only have like four albums so the debut I suppose.

Yeah I get that but I will disagree with one point, he was fired as he was a pain of an arse to tour with (also Dalle took a disliking to him and she goes on all the tours Homme goes on) it only came out afterwards he hit his girlfriend and Homme said that's a reason why he wont be rejoining/reconned into why he was fired.

I don't really care tbh, I only posted the he adds rock n roll remark as someone said he wouldn't add anything to Queens which I disagreed with.

A friend kept telling me to listen to these, and it just sounded like a worse Frank Turner. Is that all they are, or was that just the song I was listening to?

I can understand the Frank Turner similarities, but I'd say it is different and I did prefer Throw Me In The River than Tape Deck Heart but I'm not too sure if you'd like it though but when I listened to Surrender on its own I didn't see why lots of people liked it but when I listened to it within the album it's great. I'd recommend that you try the album though to see what you think of it though

Fair enough, I've only listened to the one song once so I can't really comment on the whole.

Where did you see this? Google's giving me nothing.

That's weird. I saw it yesterday but it's disappeared. It was two dates - one Manchester Albert Hall and one London Shepherd's Bush Empire - but they've disappeared from Stereoboard where I'd read it. Found out while looking for that that DJ Shadow is touring and Interpol is playing Leeds Met Union, so that's consolation unless those disappear too.
