lightning1000
Although for a flaming lips recommendation I'd have to go for transmissions from a satellite heart. Love that album Edited December 12, 2014 by lightning1000

thetime
Bjork's best is probably Vespertine, her most accessible is Debut. I'd recommend starting with Post though Wouldn't argue with vespertine, a complete masterpiece and the best I've seen her was on that tour. Post? I would say that's the least accessible album of Bjork's, her weakest album in my opinion although my fave Bjork song is on the album. Love that album Yeah, best one by quite a way for me, too. The whole of side B melts my wind. Is this thread now "The R&L board compiles a comprehensive list of all the indie canon records ever?" if so I'd like to offer up the beautiful masterpiece that's currently occupying my ears; Joanna Newsom's Ys. Yes it is. I think my favourite's either Satellite Heart or Yoshimi but I'd say Yoshimi/AWWTM are most accessible. It doesn't fucking matter anyway because TheSilence's top gig of 2014 was Flaming Lips so he doesn't need the recommendation. Can't believe Ys slipped our collective minds. Big groovers like Human Behaviour and Big Time Sensuality, and also my mum used to play it around the house and she's a pleb. kaosmark2
Transmissions is good, but soft bulletin is special in my mind. Debut is most accessible, but a weaker album in my mind. Ys is amazing. Will can go die in a ditch.

Amy Lawn
I'm gonna go listen to Debut now, I haven't in a while, it may be the most accessible, but it's still freaky as fuck. More To Life Than This and Violently Happy are massive tunes.

lightning1000
I don't think you have to be a Bjork fan to think it's shite. I can see the appeal for some but it's definitely not for me.

dentalplan
They got added to the XFM lineup. I'm pretty sure stalls standing has sold out since that was announced but not certain. Modest Mouse single is good. It's not amazing but I'm chuffed they're back anyway. Should be able to catch them at a fest next year. Also I didn't see this covered anywhere in music media (surely they care?!) but L7 have reunited and appear to be looking for festival bookings. No fucking idea where they could go in the UK. Edited December 15, 2014 by dentalplan
