He is about during the weekend, so not too unlikely. Don’t think someone who sold out BST so quickly will be third down - tbh I think he could be considered a NY replacement if they haven’t got anyone else lined up
I don’t think the live coverage is as ‘live’, or in full as we perhaps imagine. Case in point; Paul McCartney was seemingly ‘live’, and the BBC showed it all - apart from In Spite of all The Danger (which was included on the iPlayer set). The coverage all flowed seamlessly, so there must have been time to edit out the one song without making it obvious, so presumably the ‘live’ coverage must have started about 10 minutes after Macca.
Point being; there must be some leeway being shown by either or both parties. The Stones obviously got their way, NY presumably was having none of it.
