jyoung
Polishing off a bottle of red, home alone watching the Live at Sydney Opera House set. Fuck. It's going to be really special, isn't it?!

Divein
I thought they might have done BST as that’s the only thing festival that was on the weekend after Castlefield. I might head down then see if I can get the last train. Do they still knock out cheap tickets?
st dan
Assuming this is going to be more of a ‘greatest hits’ show than an extension of the Sleep Well Beast tour - how many songs from the album would we expect? And which ones?
Zoo Music Girl
Anyone else think it's a pretty weird billing? I would have thought The National would be BST headliner size by now. It's the same slot they did 4 years ago! Also I thought they were about equivalent in size to Florence but obviously not. There weren't any cheap BST tickets last year in the end were there? I think it was only the Roger Waters day that sold out early last year, the Cure sold out towards the end, so I expect that there were cheap tickets around for the others. I can't see a Florence headlining day selling out quickly.
nikkic
Would be much easier to go to this than travel to Manchester midweek for me, but think I’m going to stick with the MCR gig. Quite excited by the the Castlefield Bowl!

the wonderwhy
Florence is definitely bigger than The National. She's got four top two albums under her belt, a number of arena tours a Glasto headline slot (even if that wasn't where she was originally booked). For some reason she hasn't got the major festival slots she deserves - and taking the Boardmasters gig is a weird one - but she's got the clout to headline this, whereas The National just don't. Hence why they did (and failed to sell out) Viccy Park last year.
buffy394
With all this happening - do we see Glasto as an option?

Fred Zepplin
All I've heard is bad things about BST gigs, is it really that bad? My wifes favourite bands are the National and Florence and if we don't get glasto tickets in the resale this could be an option

Most of the complaints come from people being stuck behind premium viewing areas with bad sound. They're well run events with good (tho overpriced) food and are easy to get to/home from. Amy Lawn
Seems like a weird undercard for Florence, thought her fans would be generally into more mainstream stuff. But I like that Lykke Li, Nadine Shah and Khruangbin will all be around at Glastonbury time.

Used to be a nightmare for queues at the bar and rubbish food, but that’s all changed. Get to at least level with the mixing desk and the sound is great, further back and it’s really poor. Yeah that was also weird, and again seemed like Florence sat atop somebody else's undercard, and a completely different one to this one at that. Hugh Jass
Florence is bigger, she’s headlined Glasto, sold out BST and multiple arena tours. The National haven’t.

Same, if I wasn't going to Castlefield I'd be bang up for it. If I were to come across a cheap ticket closer to the time I wouldn't rule it out though.
