Who is going to Brighton in December?

I have a pair of standing tickets but now that Mrs J is pregnant she doesn't want to stand for too long and would prefer to sit. I emailed the venue asking if we could swap to seats but they couldn't as it's sold out.

Would anyone on here be interested in swapping seating for standing?

Bump again.

Come on folks, someone must want to stand rather than sit.

Now we're into the darker seasons that last album has really come into its own. I'm fully behind the theory that they're a band not to be played in the summer months - they're a soundtrack for kicking leaves with your boots while walking the dog on an evening!!

Looking forward to Leeds with Jenny Lewis.

Not been here in ages but some chat on the Primavera thread that this means High Violet in full at Homecoming:

I doubt that will come to Europe but my god I would love to see it. Seriously considering going to the festival in Cincinatti since I've no other holidays/festivals planned and making a trip out of it.

@fightoffyour did you say you went in 2018 or did I get the wrong end of the stick?

I can't help unfortunately but since this is back on the first page, can anyone help Mrs J?

I live in Cincinnati and was at the last Homecoming festival in 2018.  ABSOLUTELY worth the trip to see it.  If they structure it like the last one, The National will play 2 nights.  Its a good bet that they will feature High Violet one night (like they did with Boxer last time) and do a regular set the other night.....although nothing is announced yet.  Aaron and the band have a long standing relationship with the local promoter booking the festival (the promoter is associated with the Cincinnati  Symphony Orchestra and Aaron partners with the CSO for some of his avant-gaurd efforts).  The National has a big say in who is booked for the two day festival and I would not be surprised to see bands like Big Red Machine or Phoebe Bridgers on the poster this year.  Its a smaller festival that is easily accessible without huge crowds and plenty of hotel and airbnbs close by.  Cincinnati is not New York, but it has some great restaurants and is worth spending a couple of days wrapped around the festival.

As a side note - The National are originally from Cincinnati and still keep many ties to the area...so, it tends to be special project for them

Cool thanks for the info! I of course knew that they are from Cincinatti but good to know a bit more about the project. And I've never been to the States even so would be a cool reason to go and explore a different city for a few days either side. Having failed at Glasto tickets I am considering all options!

How did it work last time with the Music Now stuff at other venues? Did you get access to those with the ticket or did you have to pay separately for everything?

It was a mix.  The popular music festival portion is located in a riverside park and is fenced/gated.  The MusicNow stuff was located at different venues in the City.  A few cost more, but most either came with the festival pass or were free to the public.  Here was the MusicNow lineup from 2018:

Cool thanks! :)

Hi! Yep I went in 2018 and it was so good that I'm planning on going again this year - well that and the guarantee of another 2 unique National sets and other great bands.

Cincy was also a cool city to spend a little time in during the festival days with some nice places to eat and drink, especially Over-the-Rhine (OTR) area.
