Dog Burger
One date, Northside and Glastonbury please.
Zoo Music Girl
I do find the Ireland thing quite odd though. In November they only did two venues in the whole of the Uk, albeit two nights each, and no Scotland. And now four in Ireland! Weird. Who is in charge of their bookings? I want to have a word! I'd like a nice London date, maybe Brixton Academy, as a warm-up for Glastonbury. But enough time ahead so I can comfortably do both. It's nearly Christmas and I've been a good girl all year... Make it so Santa.
Dog Burger
Looking at what they've announced so far, and putting two and two together, I'd expect quite a few more European dates.... They're in Germany from 1-11 June, then Denmark on 13 June... then there's a gap until July 12, when they do Hyde Park and the four nights in Ireland. Seems unlikely they'd do a European tour that involved six nights in Germany, one in Poland, one in Denmark, one in England and four in Ireland, and not go anywhere else. Also seems unlikely they'd come over for half of June then go back then come back for half of July. Second half of June looks ripe for more dates - and what happens in the second half of June?! Zoo Music Girl
Gah! They are so playing Glastonbury. Must not get excited though; this is what happened last year after all...

Zoo Music Girl
Psychotic episodes notwithstanding......... Told you it was the best one Knew I'd get a sarky response to that comment Psychotic episodes don't count as bad behaviour. They are not within my control! I don't think it's the best one but I've been listening to it a lot lately. There are some real crackers on that album. Some of my favourite songs in fact: Little Faith, Bloodbuzz Ohio, Terrible Love, Conversation 16, England, Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks, Afraid of Everyone, Lemonworld... I basically just listed the whole album!
Zoo Music Girl
I think as long as Abel, All The Wine and Mr November are on Alligator it will always be my number one.
Dog Burger
Parsnips cooked in meat fat and blood. Beef fat in the veggie gravy. A jingoistic rant from my granddad about benefits, Bulgarians and 'jungle bunnies'. For fuck's sake. When can I go back to Bristol and listen to The National on my own?! I'll be cooking my own individual christmas dinner as usual. Outside my own home the risk of pollution from the murderous carnivores is far to great to trust anyone else to cook it. Melted down cows dribbled all over your food. Yum! Blood on vegetables though. A new low.

Vanderlyle
Gah! They are so playing Glastonbury. Must not get excited though; this is what happened last year after all... I can't quite remember, but last year I was focussing fully on TN, Leonard Cohen and Sigur Ros. They all toured at that time, and none of them played. So I'm not getting my hopes up this year. I went to TN at the Roundhouse on the Wednesday before Glastonbury last year and they said something like "Anyone going to Glastonbury? Would like to go but we weren't asked". Basically, god knows how or why they book bands....
Zoo Music Girl
Interesting that they say they weren't asked. I wonder if the organisers just felt 2008, 2010 and 2013 might be a bit overkill? And so book them in 2014 instead after TWFM had bedded in. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it! Gutted I couldn't make that Roundhouse gig
home to you
They were on top form that night, Local Natives deserve a mention too. Almost made up for me missing out on Glasto tickets last year

Zoo Music Girl
Just noticed The National are now down as a SR. makes me so happy, especially after the disappointment of them not playing last year. YES! Very exciting. Provided, of course, that I get a ticket. Wonder where they'll be placed?

splinterbungee
I hope this is true, one of my favourite bands. I would guess subbing or headlining other stage? I'm sure they have headlined the tent before though. Maybe subbing Pyramid?

kingcrawler
Really hope they play, one of my favourite bands and I was gutte they never played Scotland on their tour last year. Subbing other stage would be great.
splinterbungee
Wonder what prompted the SR status. Were they down as rumour in the first place or is it "brand new information" I really hope they play and am clutching at any kind of festival straw
