Dog Burger
Fair point re: booking agent. It was the "too big" part of your post that riled me. But you're right, that's more likely come from management than them. Nobbing agents!! - in all walks of life - should be shot. edit - apart from newsagents - they're ok Yeah, and I put that in inverted commas, as I think quantifying and comparing something as wonderfully intangible as music is pretty fruitless and vulgar. I love the idea that bands come crawling on their hands and knees personally to beg Michael Eavis to play at Glastonbury, with an awareness of the festival's social and political history, but in reality (in most cases) I doubt it's like that, sadly. Zoo Music Girl
with Metallica now seemingly lined up to headline Pyramid, there's an Other headline slot open. i personally don't think The National are big enough / a big enough pull to do it, but i could be wrong! You are wrong. See my post above
Zoo Music Girl
I never disputed that if you read my actual words!!! Although when did twfm come out? Cos arguably they weren't before that album. It came out last summer, just before the festival I think. I agree that it has raised their profile considerably. Trebor
I need to see them in the dark. The Green Man set was also too early in the evening to be the right atmosphere. I'd say they're definitely big enough to headline the Other Stage these days. Edited March 20, 2014 by Trebor
SOAD
You realize that this topic has got me so fired up for seeing The National at Glasto that if for some awful reason they don't play I will never forgive you guys!! Morse Code
Cheers You're trying in the resale, aren't you? Will have everything crossed for you too! If The National are there, we all gotta be. I am but may have an alternative route too that's looking promising. Can't talk about it though! Tuna
From the current announced acts and rumours, I don't think there's anyone I'd see above The National. Including my favourite band, Arcade Fire -- that's how good they are live. If the Eavii miss out then they're silly silly billies.
Zoo Music Girl
Arcade Fire would be the worst clash for me as I'd love to see them headline Glastonbury (even though I'm seeing them in June anyway). But I agree it'd have to be The National, I think. Got this band pretty bad.

Zoo Music Girl
nick cave is in a different stratosphere to the national. Get a grip. Knew you'd have something to say about that. They're in the same stratosphere, they just occupy slightly different strata of the stratosphere. Was Chuck Berry bigger than The Kinks? They're totally different things, aren't they? Can't we just agree they're both great?
