Mardy
Last time I went to the O2, I booked a hotel in Stratford, was lovely and easy to get to and from. Was one of the chains, premier inn, ibis, dunno, something like that.
FooFighters
Got tickets, going with my Mum. Very excited. Would really like them to start playing Brainy and Anyone's Ghost again
teamcampesinos!
Would really like them to start playing Brainy and Anyone's Ghost again Tough break-up? I also have tickets! After they were absolutely incredible at Hyde Park this weekend I couldn't resist. Here's holding out for All the Wine... has anyone here seen it live before? Anderson19
Stratford seems the best place price wise after looking around that area, is there anything to do after in Stratford such as a couple of pubs or anything suppose it will be getting on for last orders mind! Tuna
@teamcampesinos yes have seen all the wine a couple of times, simply wonderful. first verse is one of my very favourites
NinjaJihad
Just a heads up that Standing seems to be sold out. Still plenty of seats left, not down to cheap seats yet
Tuna
Wow good for them! That's awesome.
Zoo Music Girl
I'm actually quite surprised it hasn't sold out yet. Then again it is quite pricey and I always just assume everything I want to go will sell out and approach ticket-getting with attendant levels of anxiety. I've not seen "All The Wine" yet! Criminal oversight. They did it at Tuna's night and not mine at Ally Pally and the last two times weren't long enough sets to accommodate it. Fingers crossed for November
Gucci Piggy
Much bigger bands have failed to sell out the O2 recently. I'm not even sure it was sold out when I saw Muse there in 2012. Don't think Biffy or NIN sold it out recently, either. Could be wrong, though.
Frankly Mr Shankly
I'm actually quite surprised it hasn't sold out yet. I'm not. It's over priced & mid week. To be honest I doubt it will sell out entirely, the standing will but I doubt the top tier seating will.

I think it's safe to assume that it probably will be sold out before long, unless the cheap seats really are completely undeiserable? Don't think Biffy or NIN sold it out recently, either. Could be wrong, though. Muse defo did last time!!! For the first time ever I didn't manage to get tickets for a gig I really wanted to go to and trying at ticket on sale! (Including the pre sales!). Managed to get Production seats in the end in the front row behind the stage, which was brilliant actually given the setup I am pretty sure Biffy sold it out it out to. The standing already has sold out! I think it's safe to assume that it probably will be sold out before long, unless the cheap seats really are completely undeiserable? I'd imagine with The National, alot of people who really wanted to go would have got them straight away? They don't have many casual fans really do they? Stratford seems the best place price wise after looking around that area, is there anything to do after in Stratford such as a couple of pubs or anything suppose it will be getting on for last orders mind! You've got Aspers Casino in Westfield which is open 24 hours I believe but apart from that most will be shut about 11. (There's a weatherspoons not far from the station/westfields called the Golden Grove which is open til Midnight I believe)

I think the phrase you're looking for is "a lot of people who really wanted to go and can get to fucking London for a Wednesday night gig" Not bitter at all. Superscally
The O2 is an abomination and National fans have more sense. If I lived in Stratford and they were playing, I wouldn't pay to see them there.

Superscally
Not been to Earls Court, but I found the seating better at Wembley. Sound at O2 is weird. Therefore shit.
Zoo Music Girl
Wembley is horrendous. O2 is pretty soulless but the sound has always been fine for me and when you're standing it's really not that bad. Seated anyway in an arena is pretty shit, in my opinion. Unless for someone like ol Leonard.

I've never had that bad an experience there and I've sat in some properly shite seats. Wembley arena is the absolute pits. Obviously I'd still rather the national were playing anywhere but arenas. The day nick cave starts playing there will be a very very sad day (thankfully this is pretty fucking unlikely!)

I find it much better than both Wembley and the old Crossharbour one (does that still exist?) It's alright for Superscally; I think he saw them at fucking Sydney Opera House... Yeah, Cave's arena moment will never come, I think, for the same reason that he'll permanently be a sub at Glastonbury. When I first got into The National I didn't see them going this route either to be honest, but I'm chuffed for them. I think they're better suited to an arena than Cave. I guess to see them in an intimate venue now you just need to hold out for a secret gig.

That twists my melon man. what is REALLY weird is elbow selling out arenas and headlining festivals. Madness.

I also kind of get the feeling that Cave just wouldn't want to do an arena and The National are very much keen to get bigger and bigger. Would you see them headlining Other? I could actually imagine them subbing Pyramid too. Who knows where the next album will take them either? They could be blasted into the stratosphere or they could do a Manics and slide back down the venue scale. Anyway, I do really hope you enjoy it or I suspect I'll be in trouble.
