Hawky
People seem to think they're playing rock in Rio (Lisbon)
johnybegood
Just found this on the NME website regarding the possibility of the stones playing. They said shows in May, June and July. And seen as Optimus is the biggest festival in Portugal we have a shot i reckon. Speaking about the latest bookings, frontman Mick Jagger said: "I can't wait for the tour to hit Europe. It's a great time of the year to be playing and the tour is a good mix of festivals, stadiums and arenas. See you there!" Read more at http://www.nme.com/news/the-rolling-stones/76123#cOC9wjb5QcsMoEwg.99 Don't forget Rock In Rio in Lisbon... I think that if The Stones hit Portugal will be there. Dom Wall
Is rock in rio a bigger festival? Anyone been? Think it's bigger, but more individual events (hence better for Stones stage wise - and probably money wise) Tend to have a decent amount (and variance) of acts on too. roadrunner66
Rock In Rio is the biggest festival in Portugal by far. We're talking about 350 000 people in each edition. Stones are booked for RiR. Announcement this week, possibly today. Edited March 17, 2014 by roadrunner66

Placid Casual 1927
Don't think they say anything important really, seems more of a customer service. Any lineup announcements are accompanied with a picture as well. Would like to see Damon Albarn added. His show at SXSW sounded amazing And not sure if it's been suggested before, but what about Arcade Fire as last headliner? They seem to be in Europe a few weeks before Edited March 17, 2014 by Placid Casual 1927
Hawky
Arcade Fire are already headlining something in Portugal
Dom Wall
And aren't touring in July.
Placid Casual 1927
Missed their Rock in Rio date. As you were
Dom Wall
So who we looking at? RHCP Muse Outkast Stones?
HarryP95
I'm hoping for RHCP, but have the feeling it may be Outkast because of the fact that two 'Rock' acts are headlining already
Millar95
So who we looking at? RHCP Muse Outkast Stones? I wouldn't say Muse are likely, probably as likely as Foo's or any other band that have yet announced Europe dates!
Anderson19
Still think RHCP or Outkast. Coldplay new album in May perhaps they will head straight out on a European tour..? Unlikely I know, and last played in 2011
Hawky
Someone told me this festival doesn't do repeats?
Dom Wall
May have been me, they don't seem to from past lineups. Not sure if it's intentional or just coincidence.
HarryP95
They've had Pearl Jam twice, so a repeat could be a possibility
Dom Wall
Didn't notice that! They played three years apart, so Coldplay/Foos could be a possibility.
Anderson19
Don't tend to have many repeat acts on the undercard do they looking at the last 3 years. Shame would love Crystal Fighters
