There are some news today on portuguese press. It appears that Prince was on Lisbon yesterday to greet the portuguese singer Ana Moura and confirmed that he will not play in any summer festival in Portugal.

And so, Prince is out of the way...who's left?

That's pretty good news! As good as he might be live, I was kind of hoping someone else would be announced.. I still think it could be one of these:

Lana del Rey (she's got new material coming out and is playing in Ireland the week after)

Metronomy (they're touring France the same week)

Laura Mvula (purely because she's performing in Oeiras the day after Optimus)

Or possibly Basement Jaxx as they're on tour soon.. and because I think they'd be a laugh to see live!

Who does everyone else think? It is pretty frustrating that it's only 5 weeks away and they've not finalised the line up, I've never seen that happen with any festival I've been to.. here's hoping it's going to be someone worth waiting for! Either way I'm looking forward to enjoying some decent drinks, music and sunshine!

She's sort of similar to Kelis, kind of a soul/funk singer. In hindsight, it's probably more likely to be a band or a bigger artist playing on the final night (esp seeing as Kelis isn't actually headlining and is a more well known artist)

She's only been round for a year or two but is pretty well known, but you might have heard this:

Coldplay said they weren't doing any large venue touring, but they did do radio 1's big weekend? U2 seem like way too big of a name for Optimus, though it would explain the reduced number of other acts.

AC/DC's lead singer is apparently too ill to perform, it won't be any of them. I reckon the Libertines are the best shout at the moment

Well if they're waiting for primavera to finish to announce pixies or the national as the headliner then I'd be more than happy but I can't see it!

If every year they have an old act, has anyone thought Guns N' Roses. Axl Rose has denied he's quitting music, new album, and definitely the sort to fuck a promoter about.
