"Ticket tout" is a British term for a scalper, someone who engages in ticket resale for more than the face value of the ticket.

Touts are scumbags, that's a universal fact. Viagogo, Seatwave etc are all vultures and as bad as touts.

I can't understand why you're taking exception to being called a scumbag tout, when you're clearly a scumbag tout..

If you don't want to be a scumbag tout, sell the tickets at face value.

Viagogo, Seatwave etc dont agree, i trust them and if a ticket has sold out, i would gladly buy from them, for an increased price.

In the same way a unique one off painting increases in value the more rare it gets, then so do tickets that are no longer available through normal channels.

If i collect a rare transformers vintage toy for example - once it cost around £30 (in 1985) now it is worth £800..i would still but it, because i want it and it is rare/unattainable.

That does not make me a scumbag for selling , just a facilitator for something that has been made rare by the general publics demand I have x2 tickets for christs sake - not 20.

Scalper? don't be such a drama queen...you dramatic wordssmith you.

Haha a ticket to a music festival is not a one off piece of art though is it. A ticket to a music festival does not become a valuable antique.

a scalper is not a dramatic word, It's the same as tout. Just in a different country.

Here is a little documentary about Viagogo and co

My mind is totally blown that you can not see what is wrong with what you're doing..

it becomes more valuable when it sells out - more desirable, exactly the same principle - its all about what it means to a person, not what the object is.

there is no clear right and wrong here, just peoples opinions, if someone chooses top pay more for a ticket, that is up to them, not you - i would pay more for a ticket from someone if the ticket was sold out - its quite simple really.

I would understand if i was selling 100 tickets, but x2 tickets becuae i have chosen not to go to the festival - its hardly the great train robbery is it?

it become a valuable commodity when it sells out - exactly like the painting, exactly like the trendy vintage car, exactly like the extra money festivals charge us for the pleasure of drinking their overpriced beer (&not let us take beer in) it becomes a valuable commodity and most people exploit commodities to some degree.

Is it just me, or are there a lot more Portuguese acts this year? I'm all up for supporting homegrown talent and trying something new, but just seems like a big change of direction, though I'm assuming they received some kind of feedback that said they wanted this?. I'm really quite disappointed with the Saturday acts at the moment though.

Well if I can watch a random life sized puppet act at Glastonbury instead of walking the extra mile to the John Peel stage I'm sure I can survive some Portuguese bands in Portugal :)

Bags packed and I'm ready to go, 3 weeks from now I'll be posting from Portugal and unable to contain my excitement haha!

Incorrect.

This website operates a no touting rule, on the basis that most people are not greedy scumbags who wish to profit whilst adding no value. Speculators, spivs, greedy c**ts, scumbag touts - all the same, expecting money for doing nothing.

Scumbag touts get called what they are.

Be clearer with your site rules then - i didn't see them (are they even on display), that doesn't give you licence to call me a 'scumbag'

I keep asking you to ban me from here - why

haven't you? is it because you enjoy feeling big by calling me a 'scumbag' ?

Why are you still here? You got your profit and nobody really cares..
