Kasabian in Leicester

Yeah, but sales are sales. Plus, any artist wants their songs out there for people to hear... And then the label retracted it from the release.

Maybe they see it as a treat for "proper" fans who are more likely to get the viynl release?

I don't think single sales really matter anymore at all, its more important to get youtube plays to get it noticed than being high in the chart these days.

This is a funny thread... I love the way that people are blaming Kasabian for the apparent misorganisation behind this gig... I'm pretty sure it doesn't work like that...

Tickets and the sorting out of the support bands are much more likely to be the responsibility of the promoter. Kasabian might have a say in who supports them but it will only be that and no more...

I wonder if the delays in stuff are down to other reasons? Residents around that part of town can be right funny sorts (Summer Sundae used to have all sorts of fun and games to get appropriate licensing) and I wonder if the promoter might be having to sort something there before knowing how many support slots they might have?

Could the support band be attempting to sell tickets to another gig first?

Don't panic... it'll get sorted....

I'm a "proper fan", but I see it as a pain in the arse. I was looking forward to getting that tune today, and now I have to wait until lord knows when, and at that point, I won't be able to get it on my iPod. Every time I wanna hear that song, I have to go and put a record on for the one tune.

You like Kasabian so I'll cut you some slack, but Jesus Christ man that comment is the worst emodiment of the modern 'gime gimme gimme' society. If you want to hear a song you have to actually physically go and get it and put it on? Oh dear God, won't somebody think of the children. How on earth did people survive before the days of smart phones and iTunes? If you want good music then you should be expected to work for it, respect that bands aren't out there to pander to your every whim. Also I'd imagine the song will turn up on a later release or as a secret song somewhere.

I searched Twitter for 'kasabian leicester support' or something and some bloke replied to someone saying they need R+L to sell out before they can announce supports. It's not gonna sell out and it's probably nonsense but maybe Courteeners are lined up. They're the only act that R+L hold exclusivity on that'd suit the occasion. Just a thought.

As Tourette said this comment is quite humorous Tom :P

So many bands release b-sides purely on vinyl so it's not like they're fucking you over as it's a commonly done thing.

I bloody hope it's Courteeners but if we're waiting for R&L to sell out gig might not be till next June!

Yep but I guess there'd be a clause in that agreement whereby they announce if there's only two or three weeks left to go, although that's now.

There is 3(we hope), theres some time listing doing the rounds some where

Here you go..

Saw this in twitter, no idea if it's one bit reliable but anyway, no names of support acts but suggests there will be 3 first one at 5 and gates open at 3, 1hr45 for Kasabian.

Is the new 'lsf intro' the praise you one? cause if it is that's not really new...been doing it since reading 2012, the new shoot the runner intro with black skinhead was great though

im buzzing to see the new shoot the runner intro with black skinhead. should be cracking. The setlists so far look decent, though i'd quite like them to chuck the outro of explodes in somewhere.

I read something about an after-show party in Leicesters O2-arena?

What may we expect of it? Huge, crazy party? Or just a commercial live nation trick to waste our money?

Are there other good adresses to party/have a drink afterwards? I'll be enjoying my 40th birthday that day.

2 weeks to go and still nothing on the line up. Piss poor kasabian/tour company.

Were staying in loughborough as we cant get a hotel for love nor money in leicester. Is Loughborough a good night out or is it best to stay in leicester?
