Prince, Metallica and Outkast confirmed for Glastonbury 2014 Festival today?

Really? I thought it was because he told Eavis to fuck off and called him 'something unspeakable' after trying to rebook them after his initial ban after comments about CND. If it is about bad language on stage that'd be somewhat of a letdown - there are much worse for bad language there every year!

(I know you're being sarcastic, so this post isn't aimed at you!)

I hate the whole common misconception that somehow 'guitar music' or rock music was invented by and belongs to white people- I wish people would do some basic music history!

Annoying that so many black musicians have been airbrushed out of history, to the point that a lot of people seem to think Jimmy Hendrix is the only black guitarist ever!

I feel this year that i can't even make a half decent guess at who the other headliner is this year, if i had to chose one i'd be very happy with Metallica but i really can't see that happening now. But with all these exclusive clauses falling through i don't think we should treat any exclusives as being ruled out entirely now.

I'd be happy with Bruce Springsteen purely because it wouldn't be Elbow as the last headliner and i wouldn't mind actually seeing him i'm sure he could probably pull it off better this time now.

Sadly i'm thinking that Elbow is going to be our last headliner. Which makes me hope for some good other stage headliners.

I don't think this Prince rumour's dead yet (I don't care if he plays or not by the way). He may be booked or may be in the process of being booked but the lawyers have got involved because it's all hush-hush. It's not unknown for bands/artists not wanting to be announced for festivals if they've got their own tour to sell before the festival takes place and it's entirely likely that he'll announce his own shows in the next few months - before Glasto announcing anything else.

As I say, I don't care at all and the thought of watching Prince doesn't appeal to me in the slightest (I presume he plays "funky" stuff live - I hate anything that could be described at "funky") but don't give up the dream, kids! Has any of this come from Prince himself? No, it's just a bullshitting website retracting a statement and a backing band that since deleted a tweet which no one actually saw in the first place.

So is Prince sort of ruled out then??

Think this means Elbow look more likely, i'm a fan of them and would enjoy it but i dunno how well they would go down. IMO they have 1 absolutely huge song and maybe 2 or 3 other semi recognisable songs to the casual listener, looks like they haven't sold out any of their arena tour as well so i think they should remain a sub headliner. That being said, i guess it is important to push British bands

I think The Foo Fighters should be seriously considered now as well, new album this year and the recent NME blog about them implies that they will be doing festivals this summer. Obviously that doesn't make Glastonbury any more likely than T in the Park or Isle of Wight etc tough

I think it's between them and Kanye West. Kanye supported by Outkast would certainly be a curve ball
