Surely it's prince and 3rdeyed girl?

actually, just having re-read the press release it says 'Prince' and not 3RDEYEGIRL at all - it merely says "To celebrate the release of PLECTRUMELECTRUM, the highly anticipated debut album from 3RDEYEGIRL, his all-female rock trio, Prince is to play..."

I've noticed the other post you said after this but does this one suggest that Prince was right in getting his lawyers to say he wasn't playing the festival because he wouldn't be performing under the Prince banner it would be 3RDEYEGIRL or whatever? Which would then mean that it was true that essentially "Prince" the name was not playing but the band as a whole with the artist that is Prince could be playing?

Clutching at straws here/ very high optimism

I'm sure Prince said in a recent interview (Rolling Stone) that he no longer plays under the Prince, squiggle, etc banner so that makes sense. He also no longer tweets under his own account but under 3rdEyegirl. However a tour in February suggests it's too early that he's coming to Europe and kind of makes a Glasto appearance less likely.

he was like three years ago but i think it's fair to say his stock has fallen massively. his new album did shit. most of the singles from it did shit, and unless he quick releases a new album / does something to remain in the public eye i reckon he'll be falling down lineups in the next year or so

the fact that every band in the world plays london is pretty much the main reason I'll never move away (until I'm an OAP anyway)

Bristol is a great city, but often doesn't get shows from the bands that make it beyond London :( .... then again I sometimes get global superstars* performing in my local pub for £3, so it's not all bad. :P

(* OK, I've stretched that a but, ok, more than a bit :P. But an act known by almost everyone in this country, and all round the western world).
