My point was that a secret show at Download 11 years ago was no indication as to whether or not they'd accept an announced slot lower down at Glastonbury. That point still stands.

I made it quite clear that if they wanted to do it, they would. That's just common sense.

The joke is old now, move along Neil. ;)

They did download because they wanted to do it. But they won't do Glastonbury, despite therm saying they want to do it.

I know nothing about the music biz and the mocking is justified. :)

It can't be that simple. They said they wanted to do it a long time ago, so why does them saying they wanted to do it a long time ago suddently manifest itself into a realistic opportunity this year and not in previous years? Why haven't you been suggesting them every year based on the fact that 'they've shown before they'll do what they want to and they've said they want to do Glastonbury'?

Yeah, people never do what they want to.

What I said a week or two back was that they'd do what they want to, just as they did with that Download set. There is zero difference on that score.

The many people who said "they'll only headline" refused to accept that truth, despite the proof that already exists for that.

But same thing could be said for any artist/band though. It's hardly 'proof' of anything, other than what's already obvious to anybody with a brain.

Prince likes to play surprise pop up shows, does that mean he will play an unannounced set in my living room tonight? Nope, but he could if he wanted too... That's the sort of 'logic' you were working from at the time.

Spot on. :)

So it gets a bit tiresome to put out there what is already obvious to anybody with a brain to have loads of peeps tell me i'm wrong. As happened here. As happened elsewhere.

I'll get over it, but I'm not sure those others ever will. :)

Hopefully you'll get it out of your system soon, you seem to have been pretty hurt by the whole affair.

And all people said was that you can't assume that just because they played a lower slot once that they'll play a lower slot again. And you still can't. Your belief that they were doing that was based on so much more than just 'they've done it before', that situation alone isn't enough to make the call on it (or you'd have done so in previos years).
