roadrunner66
Any news about this festival? A few weeks ago I heard that Aerosmith were guaranteed to play but haven't seen any confirmation nor official announcement yet. http://www.yourlocalguardian.co.uk/leisure/latest/10968747.Paul_McCartney__Neil_Young_and_Aerosmith_could_perform_at_Clapham_Common_this_summer/ Edited February 27, 2014 by roadrunner66
dentalplan
I haven't but it looks damn interesting. Same time and similar style to HRC I'm guessing. Shame it's not on another weekend.
glasto-worker
Thanks for that link - its funny reading that report and the locals going on as if events on Clapham Common is a new thing when in the 80's and 90's I used to work at various Music events held on Clapham Common. The Common is the same but the area around it is now well up market and Clapham High Street has now been transformed completely although its a big bloody park and if the stage is pointing away from the houses I cant really see it being a problem although the residents may have other ideas. Live Nation has been picking off parks and following in the footsteps of the Mean Fiddler they are now using Finsbury Park http://www.gigwise.com/news/87113/wireless-festival-2014-to-take-place-in-finsbury-park-london which is ironic because the events that used to be held at Clapham Common moved to Finsbury Park so its all going in a big circle. Due to the possible dates its not a event that we will be working at as we will be at Glastonbury - its a shame as I used to enjoy Clapham Common. Damsonz
It's not new, it's just Hard Rock Calling except LN haven't managed to find another sponsor after Hard Rock dumped them. /topic/183201-hard-rock-calling-becomes-calling-festival-at-clapham-common/">http://www.efestivals.co.uk/forums/topic/183201-hard-rock-calling-becomes-calling-festival-at-clapham-common/
dentalplan
I thought the loss of sponsorship would've been more critical. Getting Aerosmith doesn't suggest that though.

Dark Star
Hyde Park Calling was the name it used in 06 when Roger Waters played. I think it became Hard Rock the following year.
