It does not bother me if this year is not sold out as there hopefully be a bit more room in the campsites to put my tent and pos a chair this year (if they are allowed on the campsite) as long it is not cancelled due to poor sales. sod what might happen next year because of poor sales this year, sorry for being selfish.

Glastonbury will almost always sell out because of it's reputation and the fact it's more than just big acts, you get more for your money with the amount of entertainment on offer.

V/Reading and Leeds/TITP just don't have the same stuff on offer and for many of these smaller festivals that are less than £100 for 3 days they will get more custom as people want to move away from the big coperate machines and have a different experience.

That said if you just want to sit (or stand as they don't like you sitting down at V) and watch lots of big names in one place well it's ideal sadly these names aren't matching up to what people expect from V now.

Don't know if its just me but getting 2-3 emails a week from V Festival encouraging me to buy tickets. Also seemed to be a lot on twitter too

Makes me wonder if ticket sales are pretty desperate and whether the event might loose money this year.

Following a great Glastonbury the thought of the sanitised V experience doesn't really appeal but might be tempted into a day ticket if they start

shifting them for less than £50. Keeping an eye on voucher sites as expect a few deals might appear there soon

i picked up ticket on stubhub for £135, full weekend with camping, the seller must have got £110 or something tops for it, there were about 500 tickets on there for weston park, add in gumtree, viagogo and twickets and there is every chance this year won't sell out.

i think its a good thing, they need a wake up call, i stopped going, only going back due to girlfriend (didnt need my arm twisting that much to be fair) but is now £21 for a car parking ticket, add in £10 for a programme, its a stupidly expensive festival for 2 nights.

We have a staff online shop and weekend tickets are being resold on there for around the £150 mark. Leave it till Friday and I might get some for £100

Those that go to Weston will know there are normally touts at the filling station near the site selling tickets. Poor fellas are going to have a hell of a job making any money this year.

If ticket sales are that poor wonder if they might even have pay on the day tickets available

I've been going to Vfest every yr since 2008, I'm in my late 20's and this year just 3 of us are camping. in 2010/2011 we had 15 & 20 of us going, in the last 5yrs in particular it feels as though festivals have become more popular, or more smaller cheaper ones are popping up.

V have been taken over by Live nation now hence all the cheesy rebranding that's been seen. I've always enjoyed the atmosphere at v, I've camped at reading and creamfields and been a bunch of other day festivals and I don't buy into the chav argument, you get arseholes everywhere.

Th lineup this year has more house/dance than ever before (yet you can get better dance/house lineups at creamfields, global, EDC) and has stripped out most traces of hip hop or rnb (not that it was ever dedicated to it) whilst the pop acts booked are rehashed or underwhelming.

Killers have headlined 3 times in 5 years! Now i like the Killers, but they've not released anything new, and their last effort was meh. Justin Timberlake headlined Wireless 2yrs ago and has done several tour dates in the UK since then, so people desperate to have seen him, will have done so.

Paolo Nutini I admit I have a strong dislike for, no idea what he;s doing up there or where his appeal comes from, Ed Sheeran subbing I can understand, makes sense.

So whilst trying to appeal to everyone I think they've fallen short on the headliners in particular. I think the lineup as a whole is actually better than the last 2/3 years in truth, but many will see the headliners and think meh. They feel like lazy bookings tbh.

V will always have a big appeal esp here in essex but next year they need headliners who haven't done something for a couple of yrs, or a big name who have something new coming out. Eminem, Beyonce sort of standard. I think Foo FIghters will prob do Reading again in the next year or two but that's the calibre of headliner V should aim for.

Imagine if they got Jazzy Jeff & Will Smith to sub the main stage next year, something creative like that ha

tickets cost upwards of £100 though so V is far better value for money to see him

second fastest selling album of the year i do believe, only behind V's other sub, whether you like him or not that's why he's booked

Just found tickets for 70 a day or 135 for weekend. Thats without really looking. 100 by Thursday i reckonWhere

Where did you see these? I only saw these sort of prices on Viagogo etc before the extortionate handling/booking and postage fees which made the dayticket not much of a bargain. (eta...for example dayticket £74 + charges = over £97!)

Yea but this is a year after he did wireless, and after his big tour, he was announced in what March, so anyone who 'wanted' to see him would probably have paid up before, I imagine he;ll get a big crowd, but just think it's not the most original headliner, booking someone whose headlined a big UK fest and done his own arena tour within 12 months isn't a great booking imo.

& Yea I accept my hatred of Paolo Nutini is largely my problem!

Can't imagine anyone being dead keen to see Justin Timerlake. Teenage girls are into One Direction - not a 30 something man. I think most adult men would be embarassed to be stood watching him down the front, ha.

I think if he threw in some N Sync songs I'd find it good fun. I'm assuming he'll put on a good show - Sexy Back , Suit and Tie, Cry Me A River. His dance moves will be interesting. It's funny how much sex appeal he has when he isn't even that good looking!

when i went to his tour there was a massive range, to my left there were a group of screaming teenage girls, to the right a hen night, in front of me were a couple of pensioners and behind me there were some male Asian students

it's a great show, he has seriously impressive stage prescence, i just worry how watered down it'll be given he can't have his usual staging etc

Conversely it does not bother me it has not sell out this year, as they will be more places to pitch my tent and less Queues for drink/food/toilets etc. But you are all right this year headliners are terrible killers again and jt who can be a bit hit or miss. After seeing Kyle close the commonwealth games which was amazing she has be a least asked by the v festival booking team to headline next year ( I can dream)
