daniel.k
http://www.expressandstar.com/entertainment/2014/03/07/only-30-people-wait-in-queue-as-v-festival-tickets-go-on-sale/ 30 people queue for tickets.... I dont see why people would queue up anyway, just do it online. They say over 100 queued last year, which still isnt alot but there seemed to be alot of people at V anyway. I dont think the number of people queueing up on a cold wet morning in Wolverhampton will affect the whole number of people going to V too much

They have a set amount of tickets for sale there, this was when they sold out pretty instantly though and no real need to do it nowadays. Although they sold out before he got to the front haha. luckysalt
I always used to queue up and get my V ticket in wolves, people used to start queuing the night before at 8pm. it used to be a queue in its 1000's I remember one year I got there about 7am and didn't actually get my ticket until 1pm. Some people queuing didn't even get a ticket in the end. Crazy how things change. EDIT - wonder if that was the same year... think it was 2007? Foos last time they headlined? thetime
EDIT - wonder if that was the same year... think it was 2007? Foos last time they headlined? It very well might be, can't say 100% though. It's quite interesting how the bottom has fallen from the major festivals arses. Titp/reading/Leeds and v all struggling now, wasn't very long ago they were selling out in hours. Glastonbury seems to be the only one standing firm, although the last Glastonbury I went to In 2008(Jay z year) didn't sell out until the last minute. IOW has sold its saturday out, that must be the RHCP effect especially when they are clashing with the England game Edited May 8, 2014 by daniel.k
Mr Nasty
I look at Radio 1's big weekend and see a line up there that should be V Festival's line up!. And that is a free festival FFS. It has everything. I would pay £200 quid to see that. That is what you call a diverse line up. (even one direction at V wouldn't bother me lol) Edited May 8, 2014 by Mr Nasty
PeterGregory
I'm pretty sure they've just changed their poster from "plus MANY more artists to be annouced over 4 stages and the glee club comedy tent" to "plus more artists to be annouced over 4 stages and the glee club comedy tent". Mmmmmmm.
Rose-Colored Boy
Indeed they have. Although in fairness if you do the maths and assume the number of acts booked is roughly the same as last year there aren't many gaps.
PeterGregory
Yes true - I suppose they did their 2nd lineup annoucement early (probably to grab a few more ticket sales). There's obviously going to be another one but probably not as many artists as expected from the normal 2nd lineup announcement.

Rose-Colored Boy
but won't 20+ of them be in the futures tent? they had naughty boy and jamie cullum headlining and subbing in there last year but even so i can't imagine v would want to advertise that tent's line up as "major new additions". daniel.k
Tinie Tempah and Chase & Status DJ Set have also been swapped around, maybe Tinie headlining the Arena? Gone down since last time if he does IMO. After the stage splits we probably wont get anyone new, and it looks like stage splits will be the next proper announcement. Maybe a few decent names but maybe not, we can but hope. I look at Radio 1's big weekend and see a line up there that should be V Festival's line up!. And that is a free festival FFS. Sounds like V wouldnt be able to pull that off, but apart from that I would be happy paying V price's to be there, especially if the friday happened as well. radio 1 have 3 subs and 2 headliners from other festivals all on one day so that would be great

sisco
Anyone got any experience of picking up tickets late on??? How cheap do they go too?
Toon Army
Anyone got any experience of picking up tickets late on??? How cheap do they go too? I think the changes to eBay will make it more difficult to bag a bargain on there. At Chelmsford there are always loads of touts in the town but very few at the site. Never actually seen anyone buy from them. I'd imagine if you lived local and could go late on you would do alright. I often buy from touts in Newcastle but usually when I'm not bothered one way or the other. Good fun seeing a tout beg

benus80
Imagine the crowds in the future tent this year after the poor tickets sales, the saying playing to three people will be true for some acts! I remember in 2011 I went to see the pierces (who!!!) which I was a fan of and no joke about 7 people in the tent!
DarthSaul
Anyone got any experience of picking up tickets late on??? How cheap do they go too? Usually a few knocking around on gumtree for a little below face value, like £160, where you arrange to pick the tickets up from them

I remember in 2011 I went to see the pierces (who!!!) which I was a fan of and no joke about 7 people in the tent! i had that for Nell Bryden last year, one line of people across the barrier but you could probably have counted the people in the rest of the tent on your fingers. shame cos she was great.. Mr Nasty
I expect ticket prices to be under face value the week before. I got one cheap for 2011. Might do the same this year. Not selling out means easy tickets

It's always a little difficult when you go to see an act like that and find you don't really like them after two songs! Feels really bad walking out on them! Yorkshire Chomper
Interested to know if V had sold out yet. Ticketmaster would let me buy up to FIFTY tickets in one purchase! Desperate. btw that 50 tickets was just shy of ten grand.
