I truly believe that women have equal rights in the west, absolutely. I'd be interested in hearing where the are discriminated here? They certainly get equal job opportunities. They are in more control in relationships. They even get cheaper car insurance. Day to day stuff there which actually effects us all.

Yes, worldwide might be different. But even so, me commenting on Cheryl Coles bum is hardly sexist. Girls can perve as much as men, and do, and if you're in the public eye it's bound to happen. Hell, you get adult women perving on teenage pop band kids. That certainly would be frowned upon if a male did that to a 17 year old girl.

There's statistics around suggesting that guys are less likely to report being sexually harassed/raped because of the whole macho culture, perception of them as sissy/effeminate/gay/whatever, an argument that makes sense. I'd still be shocked if there's not a significant difference though.

Also rape is illegal hands down, there's no rights to do it whether you're a man or a woman.

There's criminals and sickos out there, but it's nothing to do with equal rights and feminism that some girls in the west get raped. It's a crime that will be punished if caught just like it would if there was proof a man was raped.

There is nothing in it to suggest men are disregarding women because of their sex as as a whole.

one recent example that springs to mind - actors. Female actors in Criminal Minds such as AJ Cook complained about not getting as much money as their male coworkers, threatened to leave etc. they still signed on again for more seasons but don't get equal pay

you can argue that second point all you like, but it's definitely not the same vice versa, especially when about 90% of rape victims are female
