It is an ever decreasing circle though, book shite, people who like shite turn up so the quality acts get small crowds so we book more shite as they are cheap.....

This carries on until it is all shite because it is only people who like fucking guetta or avcii who go. What then is the point in booking real bands.

It is refreshifcation of festivals......

 

Avicii won't be cheap. He does Ibiza and Vegas residency slots so he isn't going to waste his time coming to T when he could make the money playing somewhere like that without the hassle. 

 

The 'trend' is currently with EDM and the like - just like it was indie bands 2006-2010 hence the shift in bookings. The audience has changed also - but this ties in with the above trend changing along with the a lot of the indie kind of fans moving on/getting older.

Anyone seen TITP's tweet about Twin Atlantic an hour ago? Saying they're on main stage. No. No they are headlining the Radio 1 stage. Whoever does T's social media is consistently awful. They need someone new for next year because it makes the festival look very poor in terms of their communication with fans.

After Jessie J cancelling a few dates, she has maybe had to pull out of T and Twin Atlantic may take her slot on main stage.

May be wishful thinking however as I would love to catch twin, Libs and courteeners on the Saturday.

We are travelling from Stoke once we have packed but stopping the night in Falkirk on the way. I'm hoping to leave about 3 pull off just before 5 for an hour then finish the drive.

Why falkirk?

It's a shit tip.

Better of with Stirling closer to t and if you fancy ah couple of shandies there's good pubs.

Don't see why Twin would give up a 75/90 minute headlining slot for a 60 minute 5th down slot. Nowhere near as good a position. Also, surely it would be cheaper for T to book an act that could play 5th down on main stage than an act big enough to headline Radio 1 stage.

And if it is that way, then T need to properly communicate that to people.

Friday and Saturday would become very weak for me now. But I actually change my mind on Years & Years, while I don't think they're ready for the outdoor yet I think they may need it for a crowd they could get. Also Catfish will deliver, they sounded great on the Other Stage, not too big for them but in a tent would be immense. For both of these though you'd have a hard time and it won't be a lot different in Tuts, Reading NME is at least bigger but Leeds might struggle.

1. At first I though this was ridiculous but thinking about it I wouldn't be surprised if depending on the entrance you access the campsite from you are only able to access certain campsites. Not sure how they would work it but it probably just lies anyway.

2. I think the second one has always been officially in place they just never bother with it.

There is no possible way they could do that, unless they have 50,000 bouncers to escort people to where they are to camp then it would never happen. Once you're in the campsite, you're in and can go wherever you want.

They did something similar at another festival I've been to in the past. Like T, each campsite was assigned a colour and your festival wristband matched one of those colours. Each campsite had fencing around it and 2 entrances with bouncers on each entrance 24/7. You were only allowed to access the campsite of your wristband colour. It worked quite well actually. Can't see them implementing it at T though.

Just seems bizarre, like obviously most people are turning up as a group, why on earth would T make it so all your mates get a different colour to go to and your camping by yourself...maybe I'm misunderstanding but I'm hoping it's not true

Plus there's plenty of people who didn't buy their ticket themselves so the other thing is a big hassle as well

This kills a lot of the festival vibe - sounds awful! Doubt it's true, but you never know tbh - especially with so many arena entrances.

 

How many times I've went for a wander through the campsite and bumped into people I know and ended up having a drink with them etc. - this wouldn't be possible with this sectioned off bollocks.

 

I'm eagerly awaiting another announcement - surely a couple of acts (including Maccabees) are due an announcement by the end of the week to help fill the cancellations etc.

Then on the Friday it's all opened up to camp wherever you like.

Both of those 2 images show a red fencing to the north of that collection of trees(to the south of where King Tuts will be).
However on the official cartoon map released there are 3 food vendor symbols to the south of those trees which would be outside the red fencing compared to these 2 images?

The cartoon map is deliberately distorted such that it doesn't show the area of the site lost to the ospreys. Cartoon map shows loads of space south of tuts which is far from reality.

Does the campsite open at 3pm on the Thursday? What are the queues like at that time? Usually go on the Friday morning but will be getting the City Link through from Stirling to arrive at 11:30 on the Thursday this year

Yeah 3pm! Ques are usually heavy yeah but soon as 3 hits it goes through relatively okay if I'm honest. If your there before 3pm youl be in the campsite before 4 that's a fact.

Because it was cheap. It's just so we don't have to do the 5 hour plus drive on the Friday. It's hard enough getting my other half up before 10.
