I went to the Biffy tour and thought Leeds was much better. Best they've been out of the four times I've seen them, I'd say. I would expect a first headline set at a major festival (barring Soni) to be more enjoyable than a standard arena show anyway, to be fair.

Eh, I thought they were about on a par. Both solid 7/10 shows (probably 8/10 if you haven't been to similar sets before). I just disagreed with the "a lot better" part.

The two academy dates I saw them at ~ 06/07 were the best of the (I think 6) times I've seen them. Download was okay but they were way better at Reading. I think Cardiff narrowly edged it over Reading, but then I was really pissed off with Q&A being cut short and the crowd not appreciating the older songs.

And about the crowd not appreciating the older songs - everyone around me sung Q&A and a were bummed that they didn't play the full thing. Where were you guys standing? Maybe if you were further back there was less love for the older stuff as it was more casual fans perhaps?

The part of the crowd singing along that you could hear on the BBC was doing it in their best Simon Neil accents. Was painful to listen to, had to change channels.

Ahh, didn't realise I said "a lot better"; thought you were just disagreeing that they were better. Yeah it was probably an exaggeration, and the fact Biffy were the highlight of 2013 whereas Foos weren't my highlight of 2012 means Biffy's set probably stuck in my head more.

Ah yeah there were some songs on the arena tour I was gutted didn't make the cut at R&L (eg. Jaggy Snake/Justboy), but some moments made up for it; Folding Stars was a real highlight. Questions and Answers being cut short was a bit shitty, yeah.

I was like second row (probably impossible to be any further back if you'd been in the NIN crowd beforehand), but it was only Kaos who said that about the crowd so there's probably no point in me replying to this Crowd was decent around me.

I was in about the 3rd row for the first 30/40 minutes, then after that I went back to the 2nd barrier as the crowd atmosphere wasn't good enough to compensate for the crush.

Biffy were awesome in Sheffield on their last tour. But Leeds edges it for me, the setlist was great (Folding Stars + dem lasers). The only thing it lacked was Jaggy Snake

Biffy's set looked great on TV, would have loved to have seen them at Leeds. Saw them at Leeds Academy the year before and the setlist and performance was jizz-worthy

I reckon Florence's '12 set was pretty cool. Probably not worthy of a "best of DVD" but I enjoyed her much more than I thought I would.
