Radio 1's Big Weekend 2014, Glasgow

It said on there website at theFAQ,s bit that the lineup would be announced late April so I think we will get an announcement about an announcement this week and the actual lineup next Monday

Nick Grimshaw isn't back today (I'm assuming it's because he attended Peaches Geldof's funeral yesterday) but his stand-in Dev was just talking about the Big Weekend line up saying it would be announced "very soon". Mind you, he did also call Pharrell and Paolo Nutini headliners so I'm not sure how much we should take from that. Dev admitted that he didn't know any of the remaining lineup but one of the producers said "it's incredible and I'm not just saying that because I'm a producer and I get paid to say that".

predictable as fuck given the album release date but one of the biggest and best live bands around so a very good booking indeed.

It was obvious it was going to be Coldplay as soon as they announced there was going to be a surprise live lounge. The last few Live Lounges they've done haven't been announced in advance either for some reason. It wasn't exactly unexpected but good to see a decent headliner. I was half expecting them to bump up Pharrell and Paolo after their recent success (not to mention they were called headliners on the radio yesterday).

I wonder if we'll get any more of the line up before Monday.

Delighted with Coldplay. In terms of massive Radio 1 friendly acts they're probably the best around this year.
