ThomThomDrum
I kinda felt that was going to happen and as soon as the scrap started it was confirmed. As soon as he said he wanted the confession he was a goner. Shame, as he was a smashing character. Poor Tyrion. I hold out little to no hope. Have to stop loving these characters. Its a killer. I now wonder if House Martell will react? If so, Cersei's daughter may be in a spot of bother. Or I wonder if such a trial by combat does not usually evoke retaliatory responses in the Westeros world as "its the way of the Gods" The Mountain did admit to the rape and murder of the Martell sister in the end, but I wonder if it was heard or if it is important now? If heard and such info gets back to the Martell do the arrangements with the Lanisters crumble? (arrangements ironically Tyrion helped forge) Also I wonder if the Mountain is dead or dying? And what would that actually mean to the "result" of the trial as we know it to be at the moment? Good ep.............and for once the happenings in Essos were actually of some interest. t8yman
I'll edit first post to say posts here may relate to after the US showing, so may contain spoilers for Monday night UK episodes? I think you might be better asking Neil to edit the title. Nobody reads the first post once they have been in a few times. Maybe just put a subtitle to the thread - "No pre uk airing spoilers" or something. Neil will do that no problem. and- shit yes, what an episode. It was great from start to finish. Poor Tyrion. I hope he manages to scheme his way out of this, but I can't see it. Edited June 3, 2014 by t8yman

Spindles
What about Sansa though? That was quite a turn she put in and the look on her face when she walked down the stairs was a picture. I'd always found her weedy and whiney, so it would be nice to think that she has a bit of backbone to show. Surely Tyrion has to somehow get out of the death sentence? GoT without Tyrion would be sadly lacking. Cannot wait for the last 2 episodes of the series.
gary1979666
I can't wait either, but at the same time, gutted there's only 2 episodes left. Amazing episode. Edited June 3, 2014 by gary1979666

windy_miller
Quite possibly one of the most gruesome deaths of all time! Cracking episode, and I felt more sorry for Jorah than I did when I read the books.
ThomThomDrum
TBH I didnt really care for Jorah. Never warmed to him. It also annoyed me how he said "Khalessi" all the time and so I was actually happy when she told him not to call her that again.

bunique
SOA spoiler I actually posted on twitter last night that it may have topped Opie for shock value for me! I know there are other gruesome death in SOA but Opie's can't be beaten for emotional impact
t8yman
You are fully up to date on SOA bunique? I think the final scene before the end of the last episode was unlike anything I've ever seen..... and yes Russy, it did have shades of irreversible, although I dont think it was quite as brutal as Irreversible. It was a prolonged, protracted pounding in the movie, stays with me to this day.
viberunner
Just wanted to post sorry if anyone got any spoilers, thought the spoiler thread was book-based and so for stuff far further along. Still, you have to wonder about the sanity of someone who on a Monday morning, and planning to wait till Monday night to watch, goes to a Game of Thrones discussion thread to read-up knowing it has been widely watched. bunique
I have t8y - but that particular altercation had been brewing for several series - the other one I mentioned came out of nowhere and left us both devastated on the sofa! lost
mental scene that in the end.. been fearing the worst for a while regarding Tyrion though if the story needs Sansa to remarry.
Gnomicide
Just brilliant TV last night. It's one of those moments where you realise that you're a 47 year old man watching the tv through your fingers, open mouther is disbelief... What an episode. Sansa getting all sassy, Joah ousted, Theon & Ramsy, The Wildlings, The Mountain and Oberyn....It's also looking like they'll turn away The Hound and Araya with her sister just the other side of the gate. And of course nekid slave girl.
t8yman
Just wanted to post sorry if anyone got any spoilers, thought the spoiler thread was book-based and so for stuff far further along. Agreed, I always avoid this thread unless I am fully up to speed, and the UFC thread, and anything I value not being spoiled! I have an inkling that Jamie is going to help Tyrion escape, or Tyrion is going to be able to talk his way out of it somehow. But this being G.O.T, we all know Tyrion could be toast by this time next week. Would be a massive shame, because he is without a doubt the most watchable character on the show. russycarps
I dont think Tyrion will die. I think if he does, they would have just done it at the end of the last episode. I think a big event will happen that interrupts it, eg an army attacks, or a dragon or summat. I'm almost certain I'm wrong like! What do people think will happen with jorah now? Will he turn against her? rejoin the lannisters? Or will he just disappear from the program now?
t8yman
I think he loves her too much to turn against her, I reckon he might go back to Kings Landing, but be killed because they won't trust him.
